Hey Wes, long time since I've been here. I don't mind at all. I just feel my wife deserves a newer car that has good AC. It's Africa hot out here and I just don't want to go through the AC system again. I thought about buying a new compressor, dryer, amplifier, hoses, etc. Add that to the HVAC panel being sent to San Diego for solder repair and new caps and my heart just isn't in it. The Q has been a fantastic car but it's time to move on to finish building another 944 turbo engine. I do all my own AC work on the Porsches and BMW but the Q is so different. Without lights on the panel I can't even run the AC diagnostics and have to rely on manifold gauges only. I can't recover R-12 and it's a minimum of $300 to even get a shop to look at it again. For anyone willing to do the AC this car is going to run for another 100K miles. The service manger even told me the other day it was the nicest Gen 1 they've seen since they opened. He brought out a younger salesman and was showing him how Infiniti has built solid cars since day 1...it made me feel good to know someone appreciates a well maintained 16 YO car as much as me. I will always have a soft spot for that car. It still runs like a scalded dog. Hopefully it won't sell locally to some idiot that drives it into the ground.

I thought you can't post pics here due to server issues; that's why I said I would send pics to anyone interested. If I can post them here let me know how; I didn't want to take up band width without checking.

Please send pics to me. if you have a bunch, send them in a ZIP file and I'll host them for you.

We had to disable attachments on the forum, but I can host pics for Q owners.

Thanks Wes...I'll get some new ones to you later today. BTW: After checking Craigslist I've dropped the price to $2250/OBO. Hopefully it will sell fast locally here in Sacramento where someone can see the condition of the car and drive it. I am completely out of garage, driveway, and street space; my neighbors are getting a bit testy! (6 cars)

Added pics to my sig but it looks like the first guy that saw the car is going to buy it though. I parked it at the local grocery with FS signs, went inside to buy beer, and saw a guy looking at it. I stopped to see if he had any questions. No haggling on the price but I'll see if he has the cash or not. The car looks so nice it's hard to part with it...I loved my Q

Just put a new compressor, dryer and condenser in it. Not hard to DIY. The one I got from Scottsdale came with new hoses.

I thought of that also as an option but it's time to move on and spend more wrenching time and building up the P-cars that are more needy of my services. I truly loved the Q but it just sold for my full asking price to someone with a 99Q who was looking for a clean Gen 1. These forums have been great to me and I never could have gotten through many of the repairs without people like Dennis, Doug, Maxnix, Wes, Joe at Scottsdale, and countless others. To all of you NICO folk I give a big thanks and bid farewell until that G37 Coupe sits in my garage.
