Service is close but I will drop by tomorrrow.

I just wanted to see if other NICO's are having this issue. Last month was the THIRD time I replaced the Battery and it's been 14 months.

My sister has the 2.5S and she still using the original since she picked it up over a year ago.

Don't leave your i-key next to the phone. Although you probably won't get any interference on your phone from the i-key, the close proximity between the two could eat up your i-key battery.

Why would a phone drain the battery of the ikey?

last i heard Nissan came out and said that the Nissan and Infiniti keys can have there programing erased from being close to a phone or something like that...... idk, i just remember Nissan/Infiniti saying to make sure you keep your phone and key away from each other....

i haven't had any issues with mine yet.... for the pass month the light has been coming on when i start the car telling me my key is getting low but i still haven't changed the battery lol had the car for a lil over 17 months too

Rapidly changing electric currents running through electronic equipments radiate electromagnetic waves and just as changing electric currents radiate radio waves, radio waves induce electric currents. The ikey continuously receives radio waves, so if it is left near a cell phone, TV, laptop, etc. they will shorten the battery life.

That was fixed as of the end of 2007 - the new keys don't have the issue with the cell phone programming issue.

Do you use the auto down window feature a lot? Do you happen to press buttons on the keys by accident? The only way that the key loses charge is through useage...

I saw the low battery screen up for the first time, and switched to my backup key. The next time I used my car, that key showed up as low battery. I'm not sure if it's a bug or not, that doesn't seem right? Unless the dormant key was still using battery as the other.
