Well looks like I'll be ordering tires a lot *sooner* than expected. Anyone knows me I'm OCD about my car and especially about my tires and proper psi...
So I checked on my tires after work today and saw this, all along the 'rim protector' edge (not the bead). Only on the rears:

:ohno:

The fronts are *fine*, tires are almost 3 yrs old, ADVAN S4. Well it was a good run.
I've been bombing down twisties on these for a long time, not anymore now that I see this!
Don't know what to get now .. . Direzza Star Spec I think...oh god... so indecisive ..

I'm not glad to see the dry-rot, but I am glad to hear you think it's a problem. I see too many people thinking that's not an issue :gotme

You should check TR, they've got a few different tires manufacturers doing rebates when you buy 4. Pretty good deal.

Yeah, I'm a stickler for wet traction. Was looking at the Bridgestone RE760, but some sketchy reviews about unpredictable characteristics at the limit and not a good track tire. Direzza Star Spec has so-so wet traction/treadwear..

I think I just might get the Advan S4's again. Would only need a rear pair since the fronts are fine (setup is staggered so no rotating)

My research never ends... o_o
