is it jut me, or has anyone encountered this problem. when they start their cars (2003 g sedan in specific) you hear this high pitch whine, and as the car cools down it goes away. the only reaosn i aksed is that i have 2 amps in the car, one for subs and one for interiors. and with the interior amp, this whine persists as i accelerate. however, when i changed interior amps, this whine noise is only present as the car is warming up or just started...it then goes away completely (with the new amp installed) is this initial engine whine normal???

i dont have a problem with it now becasue my alternator whine is gone being that i'm using a differernt, amp, but should i be concerned???

It's interference.

You probably have a signal wire running too close to the power wire.

Also could be a ground loop - try grounding the amp directly to the negative battery terminal.

make sure you don't run your power wire right beside your rca's

It definitely sounds like its an issue with your stereo install -- not the car itself. It sound like (to me) that you've got a ground loop started. That means the interference could be coming down the energized lines from the alternator or a "cross talk" issue between power and signal input lines. Try separating the power and input lines further (making sure that they are separated by at least 6 inches), or you can try putting an isolation transformer in line on the input side of the amp. Be advised iso transformers do affect signal, primarily in decreasing the overall dB's of the low frequencies.

Funny that you said that becuase I am having a problem with my car whining when i start it up when it is cold outside. its a horrible sound and i can smell rubber burning for awhile then it is gone. it only happens in cold weather typically below 40 degrees. My vehicle is straight stock. I just made an appointment to have mine looked at.
