Ok, I bought this Meguiar's stuff to clean the wheels with, and naturally I didn't look at the label warning me not to put it on polished aluminum rims. So I took it and sprayed it all over my Fittipaldi polished aluminum rims and needless to say, within a few minutes the stuff had eaten away a lot of the polish and part of the wheel, giving it a very rough and almost white texture. So I was wondering if there was a product I could use to get it back to normal? If not, is it possible to get them refinished so they look good again?

DOH! Sorry to hear that.

Believe it or not, I did the same thing back in 1990 to a set of Momo Quasars (old school!)... I called the company, and after a series of phone calls and threats from an attorney friend, I got a new set of rims out of it. I got a letter later that showed they had added a warning label to their products. :D

You'll probably want to take them to a professional, since they're a nice wheel - Search for "alloy wheel repair" and call around, they'll have to be re-polished and clear-coated. Won't be cheap, but that's the breaks.

OR you could have them powder-coated to match your car... Just a thought.
