In about three yars im comin up on some money, more than enugh to do this i hope..... anywayz, the beloved KA24DE has an iron block, well i wantto get blueprints and get an aluminum KA block built, hen bore it out, port and polish the hads, etc....full sleeves 11:1 or more fuel to air ratio, over sized fuel pump and the ijectors, full race clutch....i could go on, but i think aferall that building im een gonna throw a superchargr on it with an intercooler, and maybe someday an S14 Tube chassis, yeah.....

any opinions??

Why bother? I mean, its nice to do something different, but do you just have money to throw away or something?

When i do some of this stuff, minus the tube chassis( alwayz get caried away), its gonna make the engine lighter(bettr power to weight ration) and it would be more lke a KA25DE(2.5 liters) why woul that beso bad, it ould be bullet proof, and at tha point no longer on he road, on the track, andin th show room maybe, but i am buying another car at the same time so i have something to drive and put some bolt ons on it. it might even be another 240, but i dunno, rx-7s(2nd gen) are lookin good and so are the MR2s. but hey what else will i do with 21,000 bux then 2 years later i get another 25 grand.......well anywayz i thought it was a good idea, but whatever.....keep driftin and dreamin

The reason I say this is, if you want high end power, the KA needs a lot of modification. It would be cheaper, easier, and more efficient to just get a different engine, than have the whole thing custom built out of aluminum. If you want to do that, you might as well have a better, high revving design implemented with a better bore/stroke but maintaining the excellent rod ratio, you will also want a fully custom crank to do that, in addition to fully forged internals and a worked head. You'll easily spend over 10-15,000 dollars on it. And for what? 300 horsepower? Yeah, you'll be unique, but it will be a complete and utter waste.

to build something truly unique is not an utter waste... not everyone is looking for the easiest or the cheapest way to built a drag strip monster... if you are really up to the challenge of block fab, more power to you...

for sth truly wild, heres a custom CNC V-8 block... displacing 0.6 liters!

Superchargers = gay.

240 with a supercharger = fast.240 with a turbocharger = faster.

You must be young. $45K for 3 years really isn't that much. Why not use that money wisely towards something other than "unique"? What else would you spend it on, you say? How about something that will give you more bang for the buck? I'm all about spending for the moment, but...uh...hmm.

What is your ultimate goal? I gather - 1) blow the money, and 2) build something that no one else has.

As for uniqueness - how about human skin seat covers or carbon fiber vacuum hoses or "EMP" hardening your entire car to withstand the after effects of a high altitude nuclear explosion? All would cost a lot of money, and, similar to an aluminum block, would remain undetected until you actually told someone about them.

I found a better use for the money - support your "weed" interest as you stated in your profile. Don't be an underachiever, use that money to step up to a more "macho" substance.

get some stocks, bonds, real estate, CD'ds not musical, money market acounts, mutual funds , somthing to collect interest so that when you reach 40 or 50 youll never have to work a day in your life. dont blow 40grand when your 20 and complain about being broke when your 25.. id have to kill someone for that.... take it an start a small business or somthing... get a financial advisor to see how to make you the most money... remember it takes money to make money.. and if you still want to blow that money give me a call i could use some priniciple to get my professional blackjack career off the ground!!!!!!

You'll do all that work and still get whooped by a ton of cars out there....great idea.

If you are going to waste that much money, at least have something that will be fast.
