SInce i got my springs/struts installed its time for me to get a clutch in order to prepare for my KA-T project. I was planning on buying a fidanza flywheel but have talked to a few people who have said they crack, break, lossen bolts and just plain old destroy themselves. Ive heard to steer cleer of aluminum and either get chromoly or lightweight steel. So i have a few questions:1) Has anyone experienced this with their fidanzas? Is there a certain power level this happens at?2) What are the options out there for chromoly and steel flywheels3) Should i just stick with the O.E. flywheel? And at what power level would it be recommended to replace?

Thanks for the help and any additional info

My fidenza flywheel instructions said use factory torque specs. Result? $330 paperweight. And yes, I foolishly bought another one and installed it using J-spec Tuner instructions and its on there good now. Havent actually driven with it yet.

hmm good question, but if your gonna get a new one, might as well just get a good, lightweight one, that has had good things said about it.

Ya, but what i want are sort of testimonials, or second hand testimonials. I dont want to spend over $300 on the flywheel and then the price to get it installed if im going to ahve to have it taken out and a chromoly or the O.E. one reinstalled. Another question: Im assuming you cant use an SR flywheel on KA, youd need the whole silvia transmission correct? Because all the chromoly flywheels are like JUN and brands such as that and they obviously havent devoted alot of R&D to the KA.

KA flywheels have 6 crank bolt holes and SR flywheels have 8 crank bolt holes, thats why they arnt interchangable.

As in, factory torque specs turned one of the pressure plate threaded bolt holes into a nice smooth un-fixeble un-threaded bolt hole.

Does anyone realize just how incredibly hard it is to crack one of these flywheels? It ain't easy. I wouldn't worry about using a fidanza flywheel, I think it can take whatever you'll dish out. Personally, I have NEVER heard of a problem with one.

oh yeah, It can handle power from the motor, you just have to be careful when torquing the pressure plate bolts.
