Just installed it and I have to say this is definately one of the better performance mods! You FEEL the freed up Horsepower and it is so much smoother. The biggest difference is the throttle response, and it's only about an hour max install (no extra parts/fabbing needed). BTW I have an extra one in the nissan parts section if anyone is interested.

is there any vibration at 65 mph and up?

no it rides smoother all around. You know how you get on it and then take your foot off and it kinda stutters a little bit because of the turbo? That is really one of the most noticeable differences because it hardly does it anymore.

thats awesome

where'd you buy it and how much?

and does it feel somewhat like a lightened flywheel modification? better response throughout the rpm range

I don't have a lightened flywheel so I couldn't tell you. Just feels way more responsive. Like I said, I have another one in the nissan parts section if you're intersted. It's a 89-94 non abs manual driveshaft.

I have one but I had to have it custom made. I kept buying them from this "drive shaft shop" back east somewhere (Im in California) and they kept getting it wrong (too short, great looking but just wouldn't fit all the way over the spline like its supposed to), it vibrated so bad it made my fillings hurt.

Once I got the custom one made (same cost) its perfect, and yes, definate difference in punch and response. Makes the car even more jumpy with the right turbo setup.

However, there is no way to get around the transfer of vibration through the transmission into the differential and rear subframe (I have aluminum subframe bushings) then into the chassis during low RPM's. Once you start getting on the gas it smooths out but it definately is a more raw experience.

I guess it depends on your set up because I don't notice any vibrations at low rpms...

i had a steel drive shaft from the drive shaft shop, and i was one of the worst drive shaft, it viberated bad at 60 mph and up. i sent it back 5 times for and it still had the same vibration every time.

i would like to bump this tread because i am in the market for MT driveshaft and am really looking for an aluminum one. Anyone else have anything to say about them before i drop 400 on one? im really worried now that you guys are saying they are rough above 60mph.

one of the guys is also running on alum bushings....this makes for a rough ride no matter what. the other 2 had a drive shaft from a shop. get one from enjuku or something and you should be fine.

Just wondering though, the guys that bought the driveshafts from driveshaft shop, did you guys have the driveshaft rebalanced after you got it?
