Aluminium Kick plates

I have a question about the aluminium kick plate accessories. I was wondering if they fit over the painted portion of the door sill, or if they fit over the plastic interior portion of the door sill. I already have some plastic door sill protectors over the painted portion of the door sill, didn't want to spend the $$ for something I already had. It seems the plastic portion of the door sill, it can easily be scratched up just getting in and out of it.

They replace the factory plastic kick plates on the door sills. They do not appear to wrap around the door sill. The only photo I've seen is on eBay. Do a search for 'Rogue Kick Plates'.
