I just got sucked into watching this commercial about "alumaloy," this (new?) material that is used like solder to bond aluminum and a few other types of metal.. I gotta say, the commercial was pretty interesting- you shoulda seen the stuff they were doing with just this little rod and a propane torch.

..Just wondering if anyone has heard of or used this product. Here's the website: http://www.alumaloy.net/

ha, i've seen that waaay back b4 i had cable.... pretty interesting to use that stuff instead of learnin how to weld w/ expensive equipment.

i've also seen this stuff sold @ jcwhitney; one for aluminum and another set for other metals.

brought this up in the engine section a loong time ago w/ many peeeps having overtorqued their valve cover bolts & suggest using this as one of the ways to fix it. helicoils would work just as well, a member said. <shrugs>

i woulda liked to have that handy when my radiator sprung a leak between the plastic tank & aluminum crimps.
