It sucks, but I managed. The great Wisconsin and it's snow stood no chance against my lead foot.

On a real note though cvts suck in snow, you can't even make it up small inclines with out slip. The traction system is also pretty terrible, barely any throttle and you're sliding #tcsoff

When you casually rip the e-brake and slide it's a lot of fun the car doesn't snap back like most fwd cars also the vq engine and my cvt Handles a lot of stress incredibly well just clocked 170k miles and it's still running strong.

Your post makes absolutely no sense. The coupe handles like any other FWD vehicle handles in snow --- like sh1t if the tires aren't good in snow. Mount snow tires if you'll be driving in a lot of snow, or considering mounting a set of Tier 1 All Season tires, that have excellent snow performance.

Importantly, don't expect a properly tired FWD or RWD vehicle with perform like an AWD drive vehicle in the snow.

Ugh, I wouldn't like a CVT in snow I don't think. I don't really like automatics either. I really like to control the torque and think a stick is best for that. What are you saying about the traction control system? Does it not work fine to detect slip or it causes slipping? Anyway, stay safe out there and enjoy the Wisconsin Winter!

I guess you couldn't sense the sarcasm in the post, it was supposed to be a tad funny. I have great tires obviously you don't live in a cold climate state.

It's just a joke of a post, I like my AC, but the cvt slips sooner than a regular trams would in wet conditions. I have an 05' s4 and 14' 300c for winter

I could see the humor in the first part and last part. I was smiling at the rip the ebrake comment. I asked about the TCS, which, in the middle of your original post was preceded by "On a real note though...". Sorry I didn't recognize the joke was continued and that the sarcasm would negate the legitimacy of my question. I was curious, but I'm okay. I'm glad you like the Altima Coupe, they seem pretty nice to me also. Same for Wisconsin. It's very nice there and I love the cheese curds!

Snow tires solve most problems. I got mine a couple years ago and mounted them on some old S14 wheels. Tires are what make or break a car in the snow. I know of a couple people that bought Jeep Wranglers because they would be "good in the snow" and ended up being severely disappointed. Tires will make any car good in the snow.

I live in Syracuse. We win the golden snowball award most years. (most snow in city over 100k pop)
With snowtires (I use hakkapelitta) its not a problem as long as its not up to the bottom of the car.

I dont bother, but to improve your winter performace get narrower rims and tires. Ideally you want snows and rims that are narrower than usual to cut into the snow with higher psi, as opposed to ride above it like performance tires (or big fat offroad tires on jeeps. swamp/mud tires are horrible in snow)
