Altimacoupe nismo edition or se-R

So, from what i've heard, the nismo edition or an SE-R is in production for the coupe. Does anybody know when it will be released?

Probably this time next year. It will probably be a SE-R version like the Sedan, thus 5-15hp more with a slight body kit, larger wheels, etc.

I do not believe a true Nismo version will be offered but I have been wrong before.

i agree I have a feeling it will have all the purchasable Nismo parts on the car for a slight HP gain but just as a teaser to show you what you can buy from Nissan to customize your car ya know

Anyone think this might happen now? The '09 only got some new rims, possible '10 gets some NISMO goodies or a "R" badge?

has nissan said they're going to be making a se-r altima coupe and if so does anyone have a link for us to read up on the future plans. Thanks in advance.

I can remember reading something about Nissan deciding SE-R would for the Sentra only from now on to help promote Sentras.

That could be just a rumour though. The internets is full of them.

I'm fairly certain they won't make an SE-R edition consider its only a marketing stunt from Nissan to sell more car for that particular model. Nismo, maybe. Nismo is usually reserved for the higher sports vehicles from Nissan, but maybe the Altima Coupe will catch a break. The Nismo 350z was out the same year the car was released, same with the Frontier. I think Nissan would have already had a large amount of aftermarket parts or at least shown interest in a Nismo version, if it were gonna happen

Yeah... IMO a "Se-r" version is to entice people like us.. to get us interested in a car we wouldnt consider normally.. but with the "SE-R" package.. maybe...

Based upon the splash the AC has made in the age groups it has... theres 2 contrasting ways to look at it.

1. "the 18-30 yr olds love it! lets put some oil on the fire with a new "3G" altima coupe

or

2. "if it aint broke, why fix it! its selling like hotcakes, lets put our R&D dollars into the failing XYZ line"

i got a good idea brian why don't you put on your altima coupe a nismo license plate holder and were a niso baseball cap all the time, then maybe you will have a nismo edition altima coupe. OH wait you already do i forgot.

I think any SE-R or Nismo Altima Coupe is mere speculation at this point. I would love for it to happen myself, but I doubt it. I'm sure if the interest grows, there may be oppertunity for it, but I would say it's at a minimum of a year away. I'd guess as the first generation A/Cs age, they will come out with an SE-R or Nismo to breathe life back into the car before it's next iteration. Obviously with Nissan's recent success in their newest car models, it's more than likely a 5 year cycle as compared with other companies out there.

So I'm betting on 3-4 years from now you guys can buy an SE-R Altima Coupe or Nismo Altima Coupe.

Yea, once the sales drop on the coupe, they might make an SER version. The coupe was the best selling car in Nissan's 08 lineup. Its so popular Nissan doesn't even air commercials for it. I doubt they waste time changing it, if its already a hot ticket item
