OK so my '00 Altima GXE decideD to stop working out of nowhere. I had noticed the presence of gas odor pretty strong when i would get home from work, running errands etc. As soon as i stepped out of the car, not inside but outside for about a month prior to this 'no start issue '. So once the car finally gave up I went straight to replacing the fuel pump since I had recently replaced the fuel filter a couple months back. During replacing of fuel pump noticed that the O ring was slightly torn but not completely through just the lower portion is the Ring was damaged. I have checked the plugs, they have spark, when I try to start the car the engine cranks, fuel will be pressurized for approximately 10sec then just stop to a slow trickle. I checked all relays and fuses good there. Spayed ignition fluid directly into air intake and cat fires right up but then dies if stop spray of igniting fluid. So sprayed it again and then in burst sprays of ignition fluid into air intake can keep car running for as long as we continued to spray but as soon as stop spray engine dies shortly after. I recently replaced the distributor & distributer cap but I bought the distributer used to save money, but again is getting spark. Couldn't hear fuel pump whine when key in on position So replaceD fuel pump again. Now crank engine no fuel pressure at all. I did read in the Manuel to check the Ohms at the fuel sending unit and for expl. If you have Half a tank of gas should be anywhere from 32-38 Ohms. When I did my readings I was at 7- 10 ohms at the sending unit. In the manual it stated if the Ohms were incorrect then replace sending unit. But im not sure if that would cause the car to not start. Any and all suggestions comments are much appreciated thanks in advance.
