Just read the review of the new V6 and 4 cylinder Accord and they ranked below both the 2.5 and 3.5 Altima. Basically, Honda messed with a very good car and Nissan has made so many improvements that it beat out a car that has historically been on top.

I would assume people concerned with style and performance think CR is a joke, but they do some extensive testing that can help in making a decision.

I have to agree with them, the Altima is a great car and the styling on the new Accord reminds me too much of a Hyundai. In addtion, the new V6 Accord is 0-60 in over 7 secs????

I think the biggest step Nissan took with the new models was with the interior quality. They used much better materials and the fit is much better than previous years. The motor is basically the same thing, but they did a great facelift on the styling. The Altima has always been a fun, dynamic car to drive versus the Accord and Camry, and finally they stepped up to the plate with more than just a great driving car; they have a better quality car overall. And I believe that was the final touch to make the Altima a serious contender to the Accord and Camry.

Have not seen the article...But that would be the first mag to pick the Altima over the Accord.

Personally....when it comes to cars...CR reporting sucks. They need to stick to stoves, tv's and sweepers.

When I bought my van......they rated the Oddy as the best.....All red circles.......What a farse...It is the biggest POS I have ever owned. They put out reliability ratings way too soon. Hell..they had the transmission rated as a red circle now it is a black one......FOCK CR...

Did you look at some of their tests from 0-60 and the 1/4 mile? They are seconds higher than any other mag testing the same vehicle

I would say that they do report early on EVERYTHING including washers, etc. I am not sure how you can predict how well something will hold up in the future and be accurate all the time. Look at the drop in quality for Toyota, Mercedes, etc and the improvement with Ford-that would have been near impossible to predict a year ago.

On the 0-60, I get all the car rags and they drop clutches, power brake and in general abuse the crap out of a car to get the best performance. CR does not do that thus the difference.
