This is 2 problems...

Car: 93 altima gxe

1.) When I apply a little (or full) pressure to the brake while in drive (and probably park for that matter) the dash clock goes out. Does the clock use its own 25 amp fuse? If so I will look tomorrow because I did change a 25 watt fuse on there, but I doubt that fixes it. Also for that matter it sounds as though soemtimes when im braking while in drive, it feels as though im moving a box out of the way with my foot. after about 2 cm of pressing it down its like i hit something when i press further.

2.) This car stalls when put into idle in drive, and usually worse in park. It doesn't stay at 700/750 rpms as it should for idle. After changing the:Fuel filterDistributor CapRotorSplicing a hose from this vacuum box next to the fuel filter where a few hoses came from (had a cut in it)

it still does kill. Its not as bad now, but it still does.

3.) The engine has a clanking noise... hard to explain. Me and my personal mechanic are to look at this tomorrow to see if that is why its stalling.

On a final note: THe car now after all those changes to things will try to fight back against the idle. It will raise itself up when it sees its getting rough and shaking and dieing.. sometimes it goes way down in rpms til it sound like its stopped, and jump back up to 1k or so, and repeat.

Hope someone can help.. thx

i fixed #3. After removing the valve cover, I discovered the timing belt cover (this metal thing over the belt) was broken off and just there. That was what all the clanking was about.

It still kills at idle though. My personal mechanic says it may be the oxygen sensor.
