Altima's 5000 tests?

I'm sitting in front of the tv watching the Bucs and Seahawks play.. a commercial about our altima just came up. It says the altima is put through 5,000 tests to make sure it's of good quality. Anyone know any of the tests? i'm interested..

i just saw the commercial too but i smell some . i highly doubt that they put them trhough 5000 tests, maybe a couple hundred but not 5000.

Well its not hard to turn a couple hundred into a couple thousand...

ie. suspension test... 1 "test" per wheel and multiple test runs can turn one test into 8-12 tests... its just manipulation of numbers

puhleeeze, if our cars were that reliable, we wouldnt have our seats sway or headliners break or center consoles falling apart weeks after they leave the stealership.

Doesn't matter how many "tests" they put the car through, if they continue producing cars from that crappy plant in what? Kansas? The consumer will suffer.

Coming from a software testing standpoint, I would say it is more than possible to have that many tests. Where I work, we can write a couple hundred test cases for a new component to a web site, so 5k for an entire system (i.e. car) does not sound unreasonable.

well they dont put each one thru 5k tests.. just when they first came out and make changes to the overall model... otherwise buyin it brand new it would have a couple thousand miles on it already.

Isn't this the commercial they shoot pellets at the paint to verify itsrigidity?

Our paint sucks...they couldn't have possibly passed that off.
