Any Altima owners that have installed Sirius Sat Radio? It seems pretty straight forward, but I am thinking of installing the antenna to the trunk lid instead of the roof, since the '03 Altima does not have molding that can be removed to hide the antenna cable. Similar to the convertible installation. Anyone see a problem with this methodology?bud

Bud,The antenna on the trunk lid will do you just fine. A friend of mine has it installed this way. Hell, I've even seen folks put it on the rear speaker deck.

Thanks T.I know that with antennas you want to mount them at the highest location of the car. But with this being Satellite Radio the signal for the most part is coming down from the atmosphere. So... it should not matter if its on the roof or the trunk lid.

The magnet in the antenna is does not clamp to the trunk lid. So now I have to find a different location.

Yup, I installed the antenna near the sunroof. I took the cabling and ran it under the roof liner down the A pillar and behind the dash. Was kind of tricky trying to get the cable pushed through the area that housed the SRS cabling.

The installation wasn't without issues. When I was done the battery in the car had gone dead. Apparently my 2 year old help decided to run the radio, the heat and the windshield wipers from time to time and killed the battery. So I just rolled the Altima out of the garage and jump start it using the Pathfinder. I also lost the remote for my Sirius radio. Again, I suspect my 2 year old helper. Also, as we were driving to a family get together, my wife called to activate the radio. The computer automated system wasn't cooperating, so she asked to speak to a human. After three phone calls the customer service person informed her that even though she was talking to a human, the computer was still taking down the information. I swear that my wife spelled out our street name at least 20 times. You would think that a human, watching the computer misspell the street name would intervene. Crazy, so I missed most of the 2nd Quarter of the Redskins game. The reason why I asked for the radio in the first place.bud

Glad it worked out for you Bud, even with a little headache I enjoy Sirius much better then XM, but Sirius doesn't have baseball

We'll see what the merger does.

The magnetic antenna stuck to my trunk lid but I decided to run the antenna on the front passenger side of the roof and running the wire down the windshield weather stripping and through the passenger door. The wire shows a little but only when the door is open. Then i popped the side of the dash and ran the wire through there and behind the glove compartment to the back of the center console. Luckily best buy had the adapter for the fm transmitter to plug into the stereo so there won't be any static.
