I am newbie just purchased my 05 altima two weeks ago, I have noticed that my fm stations have static and the volume control does not seem to work about half the time. ie either I cannot hear the station or some days it works just fine. AM stations seem to be okay, cd works and the speakers are clear as a bell with a cd playing. Any ideas? do I need to replace my stereo? I am not into high end just having a radio to listen to is about it. Would a bose head unit work in my present system speakers? or just stay with same head unit? Sorry for the dumb questions. Or is there a fix for the present problem.

If you are still under warranty I would take it into Nissan and have them resolve the problem. They will say there is no problem but be persistant.

Hell, I had Nissan try and tell me once that all cars have engine noise on the factory systems (before I made them fix it)
