Yeah Altimas.net has lots of knowledgable people there and lots of dumba$$es. You just have to sort through the crap as you do at any large message board.

yea, although i must admit, other than teh 24o section (no offense to anyone) i see very few that are dumbasses, i guess cause we get so many new members on the 24o section all the time, some of them are very young, and depending on the person, bound to be kinda, well out there, or 'special'

There are like 20,000 members at altimas.net, there are maybe 10 people that regularly visit the altimas forum on NICO.

actually, there are more knowledgable 240sx owners than altima owners on NICO. I know more about my altima, and the other 2 gens than any of the members here combined, most likely

yea, i think that was a lil uncalled for, im not doubting your knowledge, and i dont want to start any kind of retarded argument, but ive seen some things u have posted that i think were less than 'accurate', and no ones perfect by any means, but u offend a lot of people when u say things like htat

what was less than accurate? I'm the only person who has mentioned that Bluebirds weren't all turbo and awd, i even provided a list of the engines and drivetrains availible in the U13 chassis. And besides, I just bought an s13 hatchback 5 speed, no need for the altima, so it's gonna be sold.

also, I'm 17, almost 18. I have 1 year left of highschool, so I haven't had my car all that long. I haven't had much time to search for facts about it either, I have a job and work about 30 hours a week to pay for the 240, well to mod it anyway. It's paid off, I saved up for it.

now now boys, he is probably one of the smartest but i dont spend my time here that much. He is just a angry young man that got a 4 door jelly bean for his birthday instead of a little sporty car like the 240. He has one now and is over confident. DOnt think i am dissin the alty i really kind of liek the se 5 speeds and the 3rd gens.

I agree, that's why I said what I said.

And I would tend to agree with Altiman94 on the statement he made about more knowledgable 240SX owners on here just becuase of the shear number of 240SX owners that are on NICO opposed to the Altima people (but that doesn't mean there are not knowledgeable Altima people here cause that is not accurate)

i know that you helped with the bluebird thing, and thanks you, as i said, i never doubted your knowledge, however ive seen one or two posts that were mentoined like they were facts, when they either couldnt be backed up, or they were just opinion, and i know no one is perfect by any means, everyone does it, however i thought it was somewhat rude to come out and say what u said about altima members here, also i noticed your sig changed, congrats on teh purchase, best of luck with the 24o, does this mean you'll change your s/n as well?

No, I won't change my s/n. I'm known by this name even by some of my friends, so I might as well leave it. I still have the altima, it's for sale, but still belongs to me, I just don't drive it.

I did all the little things to the 240 already. It's rollin on stock steelies w/o hub caps. It had new tires on it when i bought it and now it is getting a new clutch installed. I cleaned the throttle body and took out the air intake resonator. It runs decently well, it just needs to be driven. Doesnb't burn any oil and it has 130,000 on it. I'm pretty happy with it. No rust etiher. frame or body

I don't need LSD if I don't plan on putting insane numbers of horsepower to the ground

i dont know about that, even with stock power, the LSD def helps, if i was going to put anything over 18o to the wheels or so, the LSD would be essential IMO

You could run a 300 hp sr on an open diff and be quite successful if you know how to handle the power properly. People don't quite understand that. I've never had any problems running an open diff, even though on stock power, i never notice any problems that could be solved by having LSD

an LSD always helps, but it is especially effective and important in drifiting

I had a question, My first car was a 93 altima 5-speed. I had a custom CAI, Catback exhaust with high flow cat, denso plugs, slightly advanced timing, and a fuel pressure regulator. I didnt know ish about cars when i had it, i ran best in the 1/8 mile at 10.1. I would like someone to comment on if that is quick and what the 1/4 mile time could theoretically be. That car is long gone but i always wanted to know. thanks for the help, i will be experimenting with my 2001 altima soon.

it all depends on the car and the 6oft times and such, just for reference , the average spec V runs a 1/8th at 9.98 @73.3mph, and the 1/4 in 15.49@ 9o.4mph

when i got my spec, i raced my friend who drove my altima back home, i pulled about a car in the spec. so i guess that is about right, i ran 10 flat in the altima, spec pulled slightly(it was top end 50-110 race). so it is safe to say my altima could of run 15.7?i like that time for my altima :) now this weekend i will see if i can hit 14.5 in the spec at Bowling Green.
