Yes, boys and girls... I'm driving an '07 Altima 2.5S CVT today. Took the V into the dealership last night, and they give all customers who purchase from them free loaners.

Precision grey is dead sexy. And I'm finally starting to get used to how to throttle the CVT... it requires a lot more concentration than driving a manual, IMO.

Though the brakes on this Altima are super-twitchy. Maybe I need to get the V's brakes inspected?

Altima you say? Muahahahah

The brakes on the Altima are fairly sensitive for sure.

eh, once you get used to it, it doesn't require all that much concentration... ;oD

Why's the V in the shop?

I took my V in for service last night (45k service), too, but not to the dealer. Even though I bought it there, I wouldn't be driving an Altima today. I'd be driving just what I am today - my wife's minivan...

(Boy, do I miss my Versa, even after just driving the Odyssey to work. My daughter says, "It's like driving Canada!")

Maybe the V doesn't take much, but the Altima is WAY twitchier.

I took it in because as of last night, I ended up with 109xx miles... and I wanted to make sure I got as many adjustments done under the 12k mile adjustment warranty as I could.

So I took it in for poor/inconsistent AC performance and to get a wheel alignment, and also to look at the power socket because it's blown a couple fuses. They told me that it's because I used a cell phone charger. I reminded them that it's classified as a power outlet, not a cigarette lighter, hence use of a phone charger IS its designated purpose.

If I had decided to not be lazy and move my son's car seat over from my wife's Tucson to my mother-in-law's Civic hybrid, I would have had the option to drive the Tucson. However, it has a HUGE crack in the windshield (aggravated by the cold).

So we get in the loaner last night and drive home... and about 2 blocks from our house, my wife says "This is a really nice car".

Hmm.

Of course, she wouldn't buy an Altima. Not enough room for dog crates and crap.

Rogue, anyone?

Oh yeah... and after driving the Altima for the first stretch of my job today (60 miles seat time, almost all city), I have to say that it's quite smooth on the freeway, the stereo is nice (even if it is the S and lacks the MP3 player feature), I LOVE the trip computer and the climate controls, it has at least a 4-body trunk... but it is an absolute BEAR to park. And I know it's not fair to compare it to the V, so I'll compare apples to apples...

I used to own a Kia Optima, same size class as the Altima. The Kia had a MUCH tighter turning radius, which is extremely useful in the pathetically spaced excuses of parking spots known as downtown Seattle's underground parking garages. Heck, even the Tucson is easier to park.

you know, I was going to make a comment involving the Altima and a conversation that Rodney and I had... but I changed my mind. (Help me, I found my birthday card today... I thought about mailing it to his house...) ... ... (but I won't, because I'm not crazy.)

(really)

Well, almost the end of my work day... I've now put in 100 miles of seat time in the car for work, which means 175 total miles on the car since I picked it up.

I'm torn as to which seats are better. The Altima's are more supportive, but the Versa's are cushier (which I like)...

A friend of mine at work just bought an Altima...I suggested we switch cars for a day because she expressed interest in the Versa (but a friend of hers is a dealer and he offered her a decent deal on an Altima he was having trouble moving.)

I'm tempted, LOL, but probably won't because my luck this year has been terrible and I can see fate testing me once again, LOL...
