If you should ever spill a soda on your shifter and then one day you find it hard to shift out of park, it's the soda. I had a Mountain Dew freeze in my cup holder and overflow onto my shifter. Getting out of park is terrible now. The best fix is shop cleaner in a can. You have to remove some center console pieces to get a clear shot but once you get there it is easy. Most likely the piece that is causing the hard shift out of park is the shift lock solenoid. It is the unit that makes that clicking sound when you step on the brakes while in park. Spray that thing out well and work it with both your hand and the brake pedal. I speak from experience as I haven't had a smooth shift out of park in about 2 months and I got sick of it. Lesson learned first hand and now passed on to you guys.
