I recently purchased a 1997 Altima fan assembly at a local junkyard for $75. it came with the rad and condensor fans both bolted to the fan shroud. My only problem is I need to know what wires do what on the fans. Each fan has 4 wires going to it, a blue and black pair running into the fan, and another pair, green and yellow, running into the fan on the other side.

the fans are labeled:OD600 19350CME12vIve tirelessly searched the web and have found no information on this fan (both fans are the same motor but with different fan blades). I whipped out the ol cheapo radio shack multimeter, and this is what I came up with.

Fan #1 (probably rad fan)Blue and black wires have about 42ohms resistance between them. Green and yellow wires dont appear to have continuity.

Fan #2 (probably condensor fan)Blue and black wires have about 190ohms resistance between them. The green and yellow wires have 42ohms resistance between them. Im guessing that this condensor fan has a dual speed function?

Im guessing each fan is fed from a plain 12v source, not stepped down or anything. so this would give the rad fan .28amps power draw, and the 2nd fan .06amps or .28amps depending on the wires used. did I do the math correct? do fans realy only draw this little power?

Quite frankly I dont trust the radio shack multimeter to be very accurate, does anyone know the specs on these things? I am going to be making a manual control type of setup and I need to figure out their amp usage so I can set up circuts with certain resistances, etc. I believe this perticular fan assembly was used on the 1993-1997 Altimas. Any info would be GREATY appreciated.

Hey man I didnt really get that into them, but I do use a set of 96 alti fans, and run both off of the 30amp fusable link stock cooling fan fuse.

The harnesses should both terminate in the standard 4 wire connector as found in the s14 cooling fan harness.

Im guessing you have a s13 so this may not apply thus the need for the rewire.... Give me a few and I will dbl check the wires in my self made Y harness to the FSM wiring diagram and give you the info. I say dbl check as the last time I looked at it was 6 or so months ago with s14boy for his max fan setup, and 6 months before that I dropped these in, replacing my shoddy 16" single fan setup...

SOHC s13 uses a 2 wire pusher front mounted ac fan....DOHC uses a 4 wire puller...

Ill see what I can do to help, when I get back from putting a deposite on some new shoes for my s14...

Mabey Ill swing by nissan to get some sohc wiring copies to help see where to tap...

BTW I run one off the cooling system (low/high operation controlled via 2 relays and ecu) and one continuously on lowspeed via a new relay on one set of motor wires. Last summer with a single 16 fan I overheated quickly in stop and go with ac.... Needle hasnt risen once with this setup this summer and the duallies.

i shoulda specified i had a 93 dohc. they are 4 wire? :( looked like two in the manual, but your probably right. are relays just a junction for wires, or do they include resistors?

I have a 93 Alti fan setup o a 93 DOHC.the dual speed Alti fans must be treated as 4 fans in 2.2 wires are + and the other 2 are - I wired mine like this:From the stock AC connector I installed one circuit from both fans, this will give you dual fan ON whenever you turn on the AC or the ECU detect an overheat situation. Just like the stock one.The other circuit I used a temp sensor switch with a radiator probe to turn on at a specified temperature (get an adjustable one!!)

Because I am a little picky when it come to cutting stock wiring I went to the junkyard and use stock Nissan connectors and wires, with the exeption of the temp switch, the whole system looks and works lie a stock one.I you need the specifics on wire colors and such, feel free to email me. To sad I do not have pics of the install right now, but I am working on them!!!Here is my mail:[email protected]

My opinion, is the best, stock looking cheap upgrade for your 240 cooling!!!
