I been searching to see if the altima fans from a 98 to present will work for an s13. So far I haven't found an answer with proof, only assumptions. I know 93-97 fans will work, but looking for something newer. I have a koyo radiator and will know that fabrication is needed but I wouldnt want to cut/ trim the blades to make it fit if you get what I mean. So If anyone has done it and can show pictures, that would be great and appreciated.

Could you not just buy new 93-97 fans from Nissan or eBay?

I've gotten maxima and mid 90's altima fans working on s13's. maxima's require more cutting than the altima fans. Don't see why they wouldn't work, you'd just need to "cut to fit" ie pretty much the same thing you'd be doing with the altima or maxima fans anyway.

Alright I bought an altima fan assembly off Ebay. Its suppose to be a direct replacement. I have a question on the plugs. Theres for wires per plug. I believe the black is the ground and the green wire is for the power. But I maybe wrong. So I need help with the wires. Can someone let me know what each of this wires are:BlueYellowGreenBlackThanks

The fans work in ground circuits of 2

Any Altima 93-01 fan is and will workThey have high speed, and low speed as well, you'll hafta test to see what each is, as I forget.

On my car:Yellow is powerGreen and Black should both be grounded

You WILL NEED a 30amp relay to work these fans...if not, you will melt your wires down. Use 10-12 gaue wire if possible from battery to relay for your source.

I have the trigger for the fans sourced from the Fuel pump relay wire. When I key on, the fuel pump is activated, and so is power to the fan. I have my driver side wired up to run constant (to mimic the main fan) and the other side wired into a fan controller to come on at 165/170.

Driving it for a while now, and having the car never get warm, I've since disconnected the permenant fan, and just rely on the one side and the fan controller to work. So far it works awesome. I plug the other fan back in for HPDE or similar events.

TIP: Use the OEM connectors that yo ushould get with the fans to your advantage. That way you have a nice quick connect if need be :D

a bump in an hour on a thread that didn't make it to the next page over. Here's a tip.

Next time search or try it yourself. I made a post about the altima fans a while back and sure enough it was the same as the maxima fans. Additionally it doesn't take much effort to check them out on a 12v source.

I have been searching. I do no not feel comfortable on other forums but I tried them too. Reason why I mention the green as power is I found it one of the threads that asked about the fans. I didn't know that it was a bad thing to bump. I would assume only if you do it constantly within an hour, but not every hour. Right now I don't have a battery to use. Either I sold them, knew I wasn't going to get my car running for awhile, or being used in other cars. I already know I can check them, but I thought it would be better if I asked here and receive an answer that will help others that may have the same/similar question.

180fan wrote:you don't need anything else from the car. You can check the colors of the wires with a battery. I did a check on them a while back but forgot the colors. But if I recall correctly, black is not ground. Blue and green are for fan speeds and yellow is ground I think. Check those colors though.

Still not definite answers but close.

black= grounded with green? not ground? than what use?green= fan speed? power? ground?blue= wait which one is high and which is low?yellow= wait which one is high and which is low?

exactly............................

ah getting warmer.

Yes, green is indeed the ground. Hold the green on the - terminal on a 12v source and touch the blue to see what speed it yields, do the same with the green on - and touch the yellow.

You don't need to bother with black.

That's in essence what I have. I remember needing to ground the black as it is a ground for my setup...it didn't work the other way around....however i will check tomorrow to make sure.
