Altima Engine compatibility 3.5

My 02 Altima SE manual (180000 miles) could use new engine, problem is that I can't find any reliable information on engine compatibility between the model years.Does anyone have experience/information about this ?Can I use 3.5 from 04 05 06 ?How about SER engine ?Is there a difference between engines originally paired with auto and manual ? ( oil pans , bolt patterns , mounts etc)
