ok so i have the dual electric fans installed on my s14,but only one is wired up.my question is can i just splice the other connection into the one thats hooked up or will there not be enough power to run correctly?should i go ahead and order the fan controller with thermostat?something tells me if i just splice it,it isnt going to run right because thats just too easy

That's how mine are set up and they work fine. I also have a relay so all the amperage that the fans pull isn't going through my thermo switch. What are you using to control the fans? Are you using a thermo switch or are they just wired to come on when the car comes on?

it came with the car.it looks like the one that is hooked up is just plugged into the plug that was used for the single fan that original came on the 240

yes, with electric fans, no clutch fan is needed.

i removed mine when i installed e-fans and havn't had any overheating problems.

If you use the stock harness, the fan will only come on when you turn the A/C on. It's easier to wire it yourself. I posted a diagram a while ago, I think it's in a thread titled the definitive altima fans thread. All you have to do is find a switched power source (i.e. one that has power only when the car is on) and wire your relay and everything to that. If you find that thread you will understand everything there is to know about altima fans.

Edit: don't bother searching, that's not the name of the thread. I found it though, here it is. It has pictures and a few diagrams, 2 by me using the through-radiator thermo switch and another by Nissan240sxs12 showing an in-hose switch. Good thread, lots of info.

Edit 2: lol forgot the link. Here it is zerothread?id=368144

Okay, so who installed these fans on a sr20 w/ koyo radiator? Did you guys removed the upper radiator hose to install it? I tried to zip tie them to the radiator, but the upper hose was in the way, I couldn't manuever it around it. I removed everything else that was in the way (battery, intercooler piping, vacuum hose) but couldn't get it in.

You have to trim the sides of the fan housing before even trying to install it. It's a little too wide to fit in between the engine bay frame rails. I trimmed mine and it fits perfectly, I didn't even have to secure it it was such a snug fit. I zip tied them to the radiator brackets, but it's such a tight fit it really doesn't matter.

Other than that It would help to remove the upper rad hose, you would have more room to maneuver.

I would LOVE to see exactly how much you have to trim off also. Please bring on the before/after excess removal!
