i went to the junk yard and found a dual electric fan off of an altima and the guy charged me 75 bucks for it. is that worth it? it seems in okay condition...what do you guys think?

also, well i'm going to be doing the electric fan conversion on my s13 and i need that part where you stick a thermometer of some sort into the radiator and it will measure the radiator's temperature. when the radiator reaches a certain temperature, the fan will go on. as the fan is on, the radiator will reach a certain lower temperature and the fan will shut off. well i want to know what that part is called and if someone can link me to a place where they sell it..that would help me a lot.

i know they had that thread somewhere around here, but i can't seem to find it.

75 for the fans AND conectors is fine. But be sure to ask for both connectors (male and female)

The "part" you are refering to is a thermostat.YOu can have one adjustable or fixed temp, wichever suits you most. You will need to trim the fans a little bit on the sides (S-13) so they can fit.The hardest thing in this upgrade is the wiring. I recommend that you make the wiring before so that will look clean and you can work easier later.

This kind of thing should be a stickyWho can volunteer to do a write up on this?I can do it but without any photos :<

hey! thanks a lot! hehe...

i looked around the internet and this guy bought a "fan switch"...i guess that's what i need for my fan. also, he has a walkthrough of how to install it, but it's not a 240.. here's the link...it gave me a sense of how to wire the fan.

i have another question though...can someone give me an in depth detail about fuses and relays? where does it go, where does it connect, and stuff like that? i'm not very good with wiring.

ohh yes and what is the ideal temperature for turning the fan on and what temp. is ideal for the switch off?

anothing thing...where would i screw the fan switch?

I will try to get some pics of my install along with some wiring options.
