I don't post here often anymore, but congrats on doing the swap! It must feel pretty good to have finally finished that project. being an innovator is the best part of tuning. its does cost a lot of time and money, but when you succeed, it makes it all worthwhile. Makes me remember my HLSD swap days. Serious congrats on that!

for the turbo problem. sorry about that, bring it to a another tuning shop with more experience boosting NA VQ engines and you should sort that fairly quickly.

Honestly a lot of this was kind of expected. I knew there would be some quirks after getting the car back that we would have to iron out. The most recent being that it looks like I need some new spark plugs because there's some hesitation and the timing is retarded for no apparent reason. So I'll replace the plugs and see how that goes.

Another item of note is that we got on the car really hard yesterday when testing some things and noticed the clutch slip slightly and there was a smell so I don't think the stock clutch likes the increased torque at all. I'm anxious to see what JWT can put out later this year.

And add to the list your recent problem of the dash lights going bonkers yesterday. ;) So now you're looking at yet another tweak; replacement of the MAF sensor.

I just purchased a Juke Nismo so it's set me back on money a bit plus I have to get my exhaust redone before I do anything else so buying this will come later on. I have a very large list of manual altima owners that might be worth looking into contacting. I know two other 3.5 MT guys that have told me they are very interested as well.

So maybe some combined pressure might help?

I would be all for this if I still had my Altima.

I just sent an email and will tell others to as well.

I'll also call them if I haven't heard back in awhile.

Reply I got from JWT which was pretty good...
We actually have an upgrade JWT flywheel and pressure plate that can work with your 2008 VQ35 Altima.B This same combination has been used with good results with the "Skull Candy" Altima Grand Am road race car that has been racing this year.B What we are currently working on developing is an upgrade clutch disc that can work with these newer Altima transmissions that have the smaller input shaft spline size.B For now, if you need to get an upgrade to hold your power level, you can use our existing JWT Altima/Maxima V6 flywheel ($450.00) with one of our 2 upgrade pressure plates choices and use this along with the OEM factory clutch disc.B The difference with the disc will be that the new one we come out with to work with our JWT flywheel and pressure plate is going to have a sprung hub design.B The OEM disc is a solid hub since the spring part of the OEM clutch system was designed into the OEM dual mass flywheel which has its center friction area set up with springs on the outside.B When you use a solid flywheel you usually want to have a sprung hub to keep the initial engagement from being too harsh.B For your application since you need to support more power, our parts with the OEM solid hub disc could work although the initial engagement will be more harsh/direct, it should be able to handle the power you are making with your turbo set up.B Our 900kg pressure plate ($206.00) can support about 425hp-450hp potential and our 1200kg pressure plate ($385.00) can support about 600 ft lbs torque.B These are both designed (along with the flywheel as well) to work with either a 240mm or a 250mm diameter clutch disc.B Let me know if you are interested and we do have the JWT flywheel and pressure plates in inventory and ready to ship.
So basically they have a Flywheel and pressure plate that work. However they did tell me in a follow up e-mail that the clutch they're making won't come out until the 2nd half of 2014. So I'm going to try to see if I can find some more people to pressure them into getting it out more quickly.

I have been talking to them, and we are working out details on me testing the flywheel and clutch setup, but they are busy, so it may not be until the start of the year before It's in a street car. I'll keep you guys updated

That's awesome. I've been dumping all my money on my new exhaust and intercooler setup otherwise I would have purchased their flywheel and pressure plate already. I will look into getting it in Feb or March and I do have some others willing to put money down. I really need to give them a call as I have only had e-mail exchanges.
