Ive posted on here before..but I'm still wondering if anyone is having this problem because my car is still not fixed. During heavy rain storms, my car leaks on the driver's side. It's not just a little leak, I get soaked while driving. It's been to the dealership 5 times now and they're telling me they can't duplicate the problem, so they can't fix it. They're basically telling me im lying now. Nissan is aware of the situation and said they can't do anything until the dealership can duplicate the leak. Has anyone else heard of this problem? I really need this problem fixed..its been like this since I got the car in October.

Here is a picture of the leak:

If you havent already done this before.....when you take it to the dealership try to be there when they attempt to duplicate the problem because then you will know for sure if maybe theyre lying or something.

I've only had mine a week. If I had to guess what your problem is, I would say it's the windshield leaking. Try going to a glass man and see what he says. I could be wrong though, good luck with it. I sure hope I don't have the same defect.

hmm..tell the dealership to take off the panels, and run it through the car wash or something.

That is dude. If I were you I'd look into the Lemon Law. They have to fix your car if it's still under warranty. It might be that it's coming from the sunroof if you have one. There are hoses that run from the sunroof area in case water gets trapped around the tray in the sunroof area. My other thought would be the upper part of the windshield not being completely sealed around with silicon. Good luck with this problem dude. Give the dealer S**T till they fix the problem dude. And keep calling Nissan North America to stay on their AZZ about the problem.

I've had this issue twice, both times when there were heavy rains, and when I was parked with my front end angled down about 15-20 degrees. My a-pillar was completely soaked, as was the interior roof. The worst part was the driver side floor. It was completely soaked both times and had standing water. The first time it happened, I took it to the dealership and they replaced the entire moonroof railing. They said there was a kink in the tube that allowed water to exit. The last time it happened, they said that the hose got disconnected from some kind of "T-section" and the water was running out into the interior roof and a-pillar again. I have a feeling that it's going to happen again. If I didn't have the extended "gold" warranty that covers everything, I'd be raising hell.

Aside from this issue, I've also had issues with:

- power steering fluid leaking - had to replace the steering column mount

- check engine light comes on constantly; began two days after I bought it. I was told that the wrong gas cap was installed, so it was replaced...twice. I was then told that I wasn't placing the cap back on correctly. It's pretty difficult to NOT put it on correctly. Anyway, I just put a lot of force behind it when I screw it back on. It hasn't come back on in a couple of months.

- rattling noise around the windshield when I drive >55mph in cold weather. They have done nothing to fix this

- rubbing, or grinding, noise when I turn sharp right; again, nothing done to fix this so far

- alarm likes to go off sporadically when I get in the car

On the family car I used to drive, a Subaru Outback, I had a similar problem where whenever it would rain my trunk would be soaking wet, resulting in it smelling awful of mildew. My mom and I decided to test it out to see where it was leaking from after the dealer said they couldn't find a problem. She sprayed a hose continuously over different parts of the rear of the car with me inside of it to see where the water was coming through at. It turned out that in the wheel well there was a flap that acted as a sealer somehow got pushed up and was no longer hanging down and sealing the water from coming through... I didn't even have to bring it back to the dealer, I just pushed it back down!

Now, I see that your leak is on the front drivers side and coming down onto you, so it's obviously not quite the same, but you may want to try a similar experiment yourself, to see where it initially gets wet and that will probably be where the problem is so you can tell them exactly where it happens and how to duplicate it, maybe even show them yourself if they'll let you!

In any event, hope you get this worked out!

I don't have leaks like what you have on the pillar but this last summer when we had 2 torrential downpours, after the storm there was a puddle of water on my passenger side floor mat. Luckily for me I have the all weather mats so the water was "contained". If I didn't, I would not be a happy camper

I finally figured out my problem. It had to do with the tubes that are connected to the moonroof that allow water to drain.

I took off the vanity mirrors (two screws on each mirror) and the handles/grips that are attached to the interior roof. I also took off the A pillars (refer to imnot2g4u's picture) to visually see the drainage tubes. I was able to pull the interior roof down far enough to reach the two front tubes that are connected to the moonroof. I disconnected them from the moonroof and blew into each of them. The driver side tube wouldn't allow me to blow any air through it, but the passenger side was fine. I used low PSI on a compressor to try and blow air through and see if something was blocking it, but that didn't help. I slowly poured water into the tube and watched as it backed up to the top. It was very, very slow to drain. I could only see the tubes from the top of the moonroof to the bottom of the A pillar; there were no blockages there. Since it went down into the dashboard, I decided to take it to the Nissan dealership and told them what was happening. They removed the dash and followed the tube. Turns out, the tube was cut a few feet too long, which caused a kink in the tube. They cut the tube to size and eliminated the chance for any more kinks. Water flows through nicely now.

I've had similar problems...I haven't taken it to the dealership yet, but I'm also having a strange sound almost like a pop coming from the right side of my car somewhere..

I have the same issue, sort of. Its more of a popping and rattling noise. Turns out its the rounded cover on the right side of the passenger seat. A nice love tap to it fixes it

Hmm I see...I'll have to examine that and see if I share that problem. It sounds like it's coming from outside of the car though

Glad to see that your problem was resolved. I wonder if that is the case with mine except it would be the drain on the windshield.. I'll have to take a look but its cold out now and I don't have motivation when its cold..
