Hi Guys,

I have ordered 2009 Matador Red Altima Coupe 3.5 SE, 6 speed manual transmission, black interior.

An order was placed on Nov 3, 2008, and the dealer said it would take about 10 weeks to get it.

It seems like eternity, is it how long it really takes? How long did you wait for your Altimas?

By the way, I live in Canada.

Your help is appreciated.

i didn't wait, i just took the only 3.5se they had lol told them i wanted a silver 3.5se stick shift they said it would take forever because they're in such high demand.... 2 weeks after i got my dark slate 3.5se CVT they have a silver 3.5se stick shift with premium package lol moral of the story, when the coupe comes it will be worth the wait lol i love my car and i wouldn't trade it in but every once in a while you get those urges that only a manual can satisfy

I live in Winnipeg and mine came from Edmonton and it took about 10 days.

I went on a Friday and they had the exact one I wanted (black 6mt) and I went back on Monday and it was gone so I ordered one and got a good deal.

Welcome to NICO

10 weeks seems pretty long even for middle of nowhere Sue. Not sure what you can do about it.

If it's coming direct from the factory, then that sounds about right. If it's a swap with another dealership, it should only be a few days...

If you're a Manny guy, wait for it, cuz you'll be disappointed if you get a CVT.

I posted before about this. I was told 2-3 months because it DID have to come from the factory. But I was renting and couldn't wait, so I was forced to get a CVT.

Well I live in San Diego... i bought mine during the early days of the A/c release, when it was at peak demand... even then, i had no wait time on my car... in San diego, mossy nissan is the king of nissan dealers... as a matter of fact, the only other competition is Pacific Nissan. That being said, because all of the mossy dealerships work together, and because they own the San Diego nissan market... they always had about 10-15 A/C's in stock , with the most popular combos availale (3.5, prem pack, MT, etc)

so moral of my story is, I took 6 months to decide what type of car I wanted.. but it took me only a couple of ours to walk away from the dealership with the exact car that I was looking for (3.5 SE, CVT, Silver, Prem. Pack, VDC)... SOCAL FTMFW!!!!!!

I had to wait about a week for mine. However I had to comprimise with the color, they only had black in what I wanted, which was the coupe, 6mt, 2.5S 2008 so the only one in BC was in black. I was going to go white, but I don't regret getting the black at all, looks sharp when it's clean. They had the car I wanted at a dealership a few cities away otherwise it would have take a whole lot longer.

Thanks for support and info,

As you said, it will be worth the wait....

I tried few cars in buying decision process, one of which was Mazda RX 8 GT, nice car, excellent drive, but when I saw Altima Coupe....The feeling that you found a soul mate...an instant love.

I'll send you photos when my AC arrives.

Ask the dealer to see if they can do a swap with another dealership for the A/C with your specs. You might have to pay extra for the transportation/delivery of the swap.

I ordered my 3.5 Se 6 Speed, dark slate with premium package. Took 3 months The dealer said they could have gotten me a 3.5 SE Premium within a week, the six speeds were limited production and I guess high demand. Either way, well worth the wait. BTW go with the Six speed, nothing like shifting through 6 speed flying on the highway and in the twisties.
