My friend is always bragging about his Genesis Coupe saying it's so much better than any other car. He acts like it's a f'ing Ferrari. I think Altima's are much nicer but he just thinks I'm crazy. Just curious what you all think?

I don't know if you can compare the AC with the GC. One is FWD and the other is RWD.

Maybe a better comparison would be the Z's and the GC...

honestly....

the genesis coupe is supposed to be pretty spectactular... the turbo tht they put in there can withstand explosions supposedly lol

but for real- hyundai finally came out w/ a (really) good car... and its actually a good thing at a cheap price... idk.. i love my altima, but that thing has to be super damn fast n its just as much... (i like the lime green one... i test drove it...holy $hit lol.... pullin the back end is mad easy too... meh lol

I like the Genesis, to be honest. The RWD was tempting, but at the time, I needed a new car at the very moment and it was impossible to find a MT with both cars, much less the GC, and it was about 10k over my budget. Plus, RWDing in New England... yeah. My lead foot would have too much fun with that.

Nice car, but I don't feel like I settled for my AC. For what I wanted and needed, it's perfect.

Meh, to me it's still a Hyundai. That, and I don't want to be part of the fanboying....

Quite honeslty, 99% of the people that give the whole "ZOMG ITS RWD" argument have no idea what that actually means and how to successfully use that type of car on a track - I could more than likely take my car and smash both the 4 banger and 6 cyl versions, even though I'm FWD.

Good point Marlin.... we've tackled this topic at least 5 tims on this forum... the Genesis coupe is a cehap, quick RWD car... compared to the 370Z and Mustang Gt, it failed miserably in an onine head to head race... but if you just want a modable RWD car, then perhaps its a good deal...

and I agree with Marlin... for all the fanboy talk I hear anout the Hyundai Genesis coupe..I have yet to see one in San Diego, nor have I seen any of the fanboys on this forum sell their AC for a Genesis coupe...

Hyundai may be a better company than it was when it was making those cheap a$$ Hyuindai accents, but no way in heck am I wasting money on a experiment to find out if this company is finally legit, or if its all smoke and mirrors...

Couldn't have said it better myself. Too much of it is attributed to the marketing but at the end of the day, it's still a Hyundai. Reputation is still very much in the game.

He is entitle to talk about his car like a fanboy. Just like the fanboys that we have in this forum.

Although, admittedly, Hyundai has gotten bettER quality-wise, I'd agree with you guys. Give it a few years for the GC to be around for it to fail/succeed. Everyone was all up in arms about the Tiburon, but now we know better that after 70K, that thing is useless, no matter how much they change the body style.

We at least have the knowledge of owning one of the best-made, well-loved, top-rated cars in the market, that just happens to have a sexy makeover.

Altimas have the better looks inside and out, however I think performance wise you gotta go with the Genesis. That being said at the end of the day the A/C should not be looked to be a performance sports coupe but instead a car that makes heads turn.

Why people keep comparing A/C and GC. They're not even in the same rank. Go ask your friend to compare his car with g37, 370z or the new Camaro. All of them will whip his a**.

ive only seen one on the road but ive seen one at a show too and the one at the show was sexy as HELL.....all in all its a good car for the price

But as said above it lost to its competition tell ur friend to shut up its typical of a kid who knows nothing to brag. My friend brags sooooo much about every car he has and when he gets rid of it it was s***ty soooooo

just wait till he crashes it in the rain or snow than say " see my cars better bc it can handle in the rain or snow DUMBAZZ" lol

Simple, price bracket. Warranty wise H wins, unfortunately. Performance wise, 2.5 < 2.0 < 3.5 < 3.8

i agree with all the 3.5se people and celladoorv. besides her and phenom, has anyone noticed that all the people that talk about how fast the genesis is all have 2.5s? not trying to bash a 2.5s but obviously its going to be much faster because its targeting a much different crowd. the 3.5se altima coupe is almost identical to the genesis coupe performance wise (1/4 mile). so to us 3.5se people, its nothing amazingly fast, tons of little fanboys, this is the companies 1st try at a performance car (i dont even consider the tiburon a performance car), they did the usual and tried to make it look like every other car..... honestly, whats the advantage of RWD to our FWD? drifting? i already kill my tires enough with my FWD so no thanks. corners? the altima coupes have almost no torque steer or anything but if we put a LSD like mehdi, it'll be perfect. that combined with sway bars and strut bars and endlinks, we'll out handle them any day. but like i've said several times, for me straight line performance is much more important then handling.

motor trend tested the GT mustang, 370z, and genesis coupe. genesis coupe got a 14.2 and i believe it was a stick shift. the stick shift altima coupe does a 14.2 supposedly but people have gotten 14.1 and i think someone even got a 14.0 with a stock 3.5se stick shift. so the genesis isnt quicker stock.
