Don't want to belabor this comparison between the Altima and Accord coupes, but there are some points that haven't been mentioned by others. I bought my 3.5 SE coupe (6 speed) for the following reasons. 1) Price: Here in Canada, the V6, 6 speed Altima lists for $4000 less than the V6 6 speed Accord. That's because the Accord only comes fully loaded. In my case, I'm not interested in sliding around on dead animal skin seats, and I have a great portable GPS unit, so it was a no brainer to go with the Altima. Score 1 - 0 for Altima. 2) Size: In my view, a sporty coupe should be light and relatively compact, like the Altima. The Honda is a big boat - longer and wider than the Altima sedan! It's also 200 lb. heavier than the Altima coupe! Score 2 - 0 Altima. 3) Fuel consumption: The Altima V6 is rated better than the Honda V6 6 speed coupe (again, here in Canada). That's because Honda doesn't offer cylinder deactivation for that model. Altima wins again! Score 3 - 0 Altima. 4) Styling: That bulbous nose and those bug-eyed headlights on the Honda just don't work for me. Same for the boring taillights. Also, the dash looks like it would be more at home in grampa's Buick that a sporty coupe. Score 4 - 0 Altima. 5) Handling and acceleration: Even though the Altima has a much better power to weight ratio, the Honda seems to be faster. I attribute a lot of that to the skinny Turanza tires on the Altima. Even with those, the Altima still pulls .87g on the skidpad. Some sticky rubber and minor modifications, and the Honda is history. So, fellow Altima coupe enthusiasts, feel good about your car. It's definitely the best!
