There have been several threads about this topic. Thanks for that long, in-depth topic though.

6.2 seconds 0-60? 14.7 1/4 mile time? Geez Edmunds needs some better drivers.

I couldn't stop laughing at the description of the shifter. Maybe someone will do a mod with a leg of lamb.

That part I do agree with though, the shifter on the sedan feels clunky too, I'm used to it though.

yeah I agree with them on that part, I think they nailed how an unwell lubricated manual shifter feels!

I did realize this a long time ago though. I had the 04 Maxima and it had the same clunky feeling. They really nailed it with the description lol

"The Altima's driveline also proved to be something of a mess. Clutch uptake was sticky and unpredictable. The transmission shift linkage felt like it was made of cartilage, and quickly moving the long-throw shifter felt as if we were dislocating the leg of some small animal."

hahaha, but since then ,I have found a way to get rid of clunkiness in the shifter, just change the crappy manual transmission fluid for a Redline MTL / MT-90 mixture (60% MTL, 40% MT-90)

I recommend mixing the fluid outside the transmission, and then pouring in the mix. The easiest way to mix it is using a 1 liter metric measuring cup. Basically, you fill the cup with 600 mL (0.6 L) of Redline MTL, and then you fill the remaining 400 mL (0.4 L) with Redline MT-90. Mix thoroughly with a stir stick, and then pump it into the fill hole of the transmission. It will take just under 3 measuring cups (including some lost fluid in the pump that you'll need to get the fluid into the transmission).

I had plans on changing the fluid as well. Folks with the Spec-V when I had mine did the same mix with great results.
