yes..you got the altima thats best suited for you. shifteless cvt. enjoy itB2010 wrote:Even though the honda accord may have beaten the altima in different catagories I'm pretty sure its not as great as the altima. I'm 17 and when I was 16, my hopes were for a brand new honda but then I test drove it... You could feel it shift which bothered me because I wasn't use to that seeing as that I was use to driving an 08 maxima. Also, I wanted leather seats and everything that came with that. Honda's seat felt like I was sitting on concrete. If I would've got cloth seats I would've had to down grade and lose my satelite radio I just think overall the altima is better and sportier looking and rides so much better. That is why I got an 08 silver 3.5 se for my birthday...best present ever.
after reading a few debates here on CVT vs manual, and what it eventually came down to was availaility vs waht folks really wanted. I like you actually waited for a CVT as opposed to a manual... the shiftless feeling of the CVT is great. Also, in manual mode, while not effectively reproducing the feel of a manual, the ability to quickly accelerate on the highway after shifting from CVt to manual and dropping a gear is nice to hve... also, downshifting on curves and corners feel gives you a bit more control of the car as wellB2010 wrote:Even though the honda accord may have beaten the altima in different catagories I'm pretty sure its not as great as the altima. I thought then, and think now that that's ridiculous.... some folks have more money than other folks... its as simple as that... I know I plan to buy my daughter whatever vehicle she wants for her 16th birthday (with a limit set to 80K).... if she's a good student in school, has done everything her Mom and Dad have asked, and is a respectful young lady, I say more power to the parents for rewarding their kids when they do what they are suppose to do!3ugene wrote:hmm, if i recall properly, everyone was bashing on 17 and 18 year olds getting cars or mods for their birthday present from their parents. I'm guessing it isn't happening here cause its a female.
**** I plan to buy mine a car one day too, but no way 80K! max 30K , don't want her to have a car with too much power. 80K is gt-R territory lolrjdmmfl1 wrote:

will my daughter be the envy of all her friends... probably, but who cares,
I was thinking more along the lines of a range rover for my daughter... powerful, yes, but sophisticated!mcheddadi wrote:

It looks like the orginal poster - was not commenting about CVT vs manual. She was comparing an auto honda (which she could feel shift) vs a Auto (cvt) maxima.rjdmmfl1 wrote:

so, although you don't completely get the feel of a manual, for me, the CVT with that ability to shift into the simulated manual mode was a great fit for me. Its all about what you wanted and what you were looking for, as mchedaddi said
But in the end, lets be clear about one thing.. regardless of CVt vs manual, good job on grabbing that 3.5 V6
80grand for a 16yr old man your a good dad. My 1st car was a 99 VW Passat GLX that I got for like 3 grand lol. Loved that car tho. You really a MD lol? Weren't you saying you were getting an SL600 AMG?rjdmmfl1 wrote:
