Hi Does anyone know if a altima sedan cluster would work on a altima coupe??

My friend is electronic guy he will do my cluster LED swap but he never took apart a cluster. So he said if i take it apart he will do the Led's for me..

So taking the needles off scare me so i wanted to buy a dummy cluster and mess with it but I only found 1 coupe cluster for 200 and tons 2008 sedans for 80 bux.. if it fits I could take it apart mess with it and then try it in my coupe..

Any sugjestions or anyone ever try this??

Even if they're not identical, if all you're looking for is a practice thing, go ahead and use the $80 sedan cluster. If it fits, great! If it doesn't fit, consider it to be an opportunity for a learning experience.

Let say i mess up the needles and I cant connect it to my car I wont really know for sure if I did anything wrong... Thats the only issue..for everything else the practice works :)

Dunno. I've never taken the dash apart. I'm pretty sure srwong has done it, and I know others have (though some have ditched their altimas since then...). Hopefully someone with experience doing this can jump in this thread and help out.

There was one guy on the forum who does it still I think. Forget who tho. He was some electronic engineer in the military I think. So I am not sure how certified your friend is but if he knows his stuff then I am sure he can do it as well.

So i found this post it looks helpfull,

Its for a 04-06 sedan im wondering if its for the coupe still looking tho

Since I've been in and out of my gauge cluster and changed the faces a few times, the needles can be calibrated - here's how, I should make a video but I'm busy right now.

PUT THE KEY IN THE IGNITION
MAKE SURE IT IS IN THE OFF POSITION (ALL ACCESSORIES AND GAUGES OFF).
PUSH THE TRIP COMPUTER RESET KNOB AND KEEP HOLDING IT
TURN THE KEY TO THE ON POSITION WHILE HOLDING THE TRIP RESET KNOB
THE DISPLAY SHOULD LOOK LIKE THIS "----"
RELEASE AND HOLD THE TRIP RESET KNOB
THE NEEDLES SHOULD GO TO THEIR RESPECTIVE CALIBRATING POSITION

AS LONG AS YOU HOLD THE TRIP COMPUTER BUTTON ALL THE NEEDLES WILL MOVE TO THE CALIBRATION POSITION.
