I wanted to know about the security; before I leave work I start my car so it will warm up. But if someone broke my window could they steal my car? And if I start my car and leave it unlocked how far away can I go from it? Or if let’s say I started my car and ran back in to get something (door is unlocked) and someone got in can he drive off? And how far can he go?

After you start it im pretty sure you can walk as far away as you want and someone could drive it off. It will just display the no key warning. wont shut off ro anything. Ive warmed up my car and walked into the basement of my house about 50-60 feet away and it doesnt shut it off.

It doesn't shut off. I've driven down the street without the key. I think a simple shift lock would be a easy fix for this issue. Thats software related and easily implemented.

It is dissapointing, I thought it would cut fuel off if driven without the key like other keyless cars, works good for car jacking too, they take off and run out of gas a mile down the road....Guess nissan didn't think it was needed

I really did think for some reason that that was one of the features that was standard on the A/C coupe

It doesn't shut off. I drove to the store without the keys (thought they were in my pocket..turned out my husband had them in his pocket because he started the car initally to warm it up). I had to call him from the store to come and drop off the keys...lol.

you would think the large no key prompt overtaking your dash menu would have caught your attention before you made it all the way to the store and turned off you car.

I did my own test on this. Started the car, walked down the street, and even drove it around without the key. Seems to be quite a fault in my opinion. As long as you pay attention, it shouldn't be a problem.

Unless it turned off as soon as you pulled it out of P or put it in gear. Wouldn't really do any good to just have the car turn off in the middle of the freeway right?

I had only had the car two days when it happened..so it is a pretty easy mistake to make when you aren't familiar with a new car. Especially one with a FOB.

I can see just by the fact that this post exists that I am not the first or last person this will happen to!
