I just got my Altima Coupe last Wednesday, and I'm enjoying it very much!

The coupe came with a moonroof deflector, that sometimes bothers my eye, when appreciating it aesthetically, but wonder if it's better just to have in on for just the noise performance? I saw someone had a thread about taking it out, but was wondering if the noise would be significantly louder.

It snows a lot up in Central New York, and I think having it would be a hassle in the winter as well. Maybe it's just an attractive appearance that I don't quite see.

Any ways, do you guys like the deflector on the moonroof thing?

Goon, Welcome! Happy to hear you like your Coupe.

Most of us have taken off the deflector. I'd say the majority did it for aesthetic reasons. I didn't like the look of it. You won't experience any increased noise because there is a built in deflector on the sunroof that pops up when it opens. This stops the noise and is fairly quiet.

A few others will chime in here and give you their input but thats mine Enjoy the car!

I just went ahead after reading your post about the built in deflector.Noise is noise. I'm not a fan of silly attachments to the already beautiful body of the car. It kind of makes it a lil bit larger.

The deflector will make a nice house decor. :p

I thought it was bolted to the top of the car. If so how did you fix the holes in the metal?

It is not bolted to the body of the car. There are 3 screws and bolts that are attached to clips that clip onto the moonroof opening.

Here is the thread about it... zerothread/268225

I'm thinking about removing the deflector, too but for other reason. I'm hearing a noise from the moonroof area and I think it's caused by deflector. It's barely audible at 60 mph, but at 70 I can hear a loud 'whistling' sound. Anybody has similar experiences?
