I'm sure there is. The question is; are you willing to drop the $$$?

I know there's a shop in Florida that turned a nismo 350Z to AWD.

Not sure if serious..

If you're willing to spend that kind of cash, why not just get a 350z and boost it? or even boost the Altima?

A modification that big is never a good idea. The car will not run the same but then again it depends on how good the shop is.

Yea definitley would be cool to do this if it wasn't so expensive. If you want to go fast for cheap I would suggest a motorcycle. I was planning to try and turbo my 2.5 but to get any real power I would need forged internals and so many other things so buying a motorcycle is cheaper and I won't have to deal with possible problems from adding a turbo to my car.

I have the answer on how to make your Altima Coupe into a RWD vehicle.

Drive it in reverse.

But seriously - the viable solution to this is to buy a Z or a G (used G35 coupes can actually be had for a decent amount of money, perhaps less than you spend on your Altima). The money it would cost you to convert would probably buy you a new base 370Z after it was said and done.

And honestly - your 2.5 would barely get 120hp to the ground after the drivetrain loss. You would basically only be able to hang with Fiat 500s and Chevy Cobalts (and you might not even win). An FR-S or BRZ would eat your lunch before you had a chance to remember what you packed.

In the spirit of good fun, however, I leave you with this -

That's Nick! He's from NJ, that Altima is no joke. I dunno how he funds that thing man, his photography business is also on-point!

Yes, I've seen it before in person. Before and after the transformation, well not fully transformed yet. If you came to more meets with me you would've seen it too!!!

There's been more talk of a realistic AWD build than RWD. Look up info on it in relation to the Nissan Crosstrail.

But like everyone else says, it's probably not worth the money unless you just like blowing money, take it from someone who just got done with a swap. ;)

It can also be turned into a convertible with side wheel drive

Personally would go for diesel as well, tons of torque

I was planning on dropping in the power plant from a recent M1 Abrams tank right in the middle of the car and installing tracks for that extra grip.

In all seriousness this would be an awesome undertaking and someday if I was very wealthy I would love to do something like this.

FYI a Nissan murano shares a platform with the altima and the awd drivetrain can be swapped over. You'd need a wrecked murano and a wrecked Z plus a lot of custom fabrication to get this done. I wouldn't even know where to begin with the electrical.

They share the same platform however the transmissions don't fit the same from what I remember seeing/reading.

So going that route would mean A LOT of customization. The Nissan X-Trail(only sold in Australia and Canada I believe) is the only Nissan vehicle that would mesh up properly.

Edit: It's not the cross trail, it's the X-Trail:

Oh cool well I just read that you can buy a X-trail in Mexico. I wonder why they never offered that here in the states. It's such a better looking car than the rogue.

I think the fact that this still gets fairly heavily discussed shows that Nissan has a market for a cheap, RWD coupe. Dare I say at least half of the Altima Coupe owners would have bought something like that instead.

Definitely. I could have bought a used Z or G for the price of my Altima new, however I wanted a new vehicle with all of the warranty associated with it. I would have snatched up a BRZ type of car if it had been available.

Does the Altima Coupe not share a platform with G35? I thought they are pretty much the same car, minus a few details. I was thinking about trying a FF to FR conversion.

I've been thinking AWD. Always had this idea, and then a guy at a votech school did his Honda prelude. He just left the front alone and added a second prelude engine/frame for the rear. It's a lot of work but actually quite simple if you have some skills.
