Like the title says, I just got back from San Diego. I went with my girlfriend, her brother and his friend.

My girlfriend and her bro's friend sat in the back. The trip was about 220 miles round trip. They said the trip wasn't that bad. So much for the A/C being a two-seater. I averaged about 23.7 mpg and 70.8 mph.

But now, the reason for this thread...

Bat meausred my roof and the roof overlay is pretty much ready for purchase. I don't know when he'll have it up on his site but I have to go back this Sunday for his installer to install it and after that pictures will be available. I can't wait, it's gonna look awesomeeeeee.

Bat's the man.

Yes, can't wait to see pictures. He did a great job with the tails.

23.7mpg in California (I assume there was traffic on the 5 South, perhaps even PCH) is a pretty good average. I get around 21.5 in the city.

It's pretty good because usually I'm getting around 19 or 20. And I didn't take the 5. I took 10, to the 71,72? Then the 91 and the 15. I took the 5 to come back and there was only traffic when I got close to the 605.

does the 2.5 do that bad on the highway?

I'm in NY, i drove to NC to see my sister for thanksgiving. I averaged 28 MPG there, and 28 MPG on the way home. 75 MPH cruise control set both ways, raining on the way home too.

I even made it in one tank of fuel, out of all the cars i've been in from NY to NC, i've never been in one that makes it in one tank of fuel!

Yeah, the 2.5 isn't that bad in traffic. At times, I'm wishing it had a Mini's fuel economy...

Just sad that I got fooled by the sign that said the A/C does 31mpg highway and 23 city, because I am getting below both.

Those are the numbers if you have a 3.5 pulling the 2.5!

Man! white with a black roof is SOOOOO Awesome!!! I always wanted to do that on my beetle lol

But I don't think a black roof would look good on my blue coupe though.

I agree certain car colors look better than others with the roof overlay. Ryan has a grey G35 and it looked pretty good also. I think the key is that the vehicle has tinted windows... this gives the illusion that the window is continuous from the front to the rear of the vehicle!

Ok, I couldn't take it anymore. It's been more than a week since I promised the pics so here's a preview before Bat puts them up for sale.

Bat, if this is a problem let me know and I'll take it down.

This was my car at the dealer in for it's first oil change.

Looks pretty good on a white car but I don't think it'll look that great on a Precision Grey

looks good but it would look a lot better if the back window wasn't wider than the roof ...

That's funny. That's exactly what Alvin and Ryan were looking at after they installed it on my car that night. They were already constructing a overlay to go on the back window the same color as my car to make it look good. I dunno if they're actually going to make it though.
