Since the car is push start and u need to be IN the car is it possible to add that autostarter or remote starter? Would it mess up the system of the ignition? Just a lil curious cause i kno some nissans cannot add autostarter even without the push start...

From what I understand, the aftermarket autostarts need to hide a key under the hood to work, rendering the security useless. I think Nissan offers an autostart option if you ask and it probably doesn't need to hide a key to work, but I think it costs $800+.

I know after my last car that had heated seats that any future car I got would have to have them too, so I'm glad this one does! Makes winter much more bearable.

If only I needed seat warmers here in Hawaii!! The only thing I worry about is how hot my seats are gonna be after baking in the sun.

If installed CORRECTLY there is no problem. There is NO key left in the vehicle unless the installer doesn't have access to the latest technology. Whomever stated that the key is under the hood is "close" to being correct. Many of the connection (about 7 or so) are run to the fuse box under the hood. The remaining "many" connections are made inside. The factory secutiy is left completely intact and everything works fine. Last week we did an 07 Altima with Remote Starter, Keyless Entry, and trunk release. All work beautiful. This was job sent to us by a neighboring Auto Sound Shop. They didn't have the technology or experience with the vehicle. It is NOT AN EASY installation but can be done NO PROBLEM!!!

I've got a question for you then - is it possible to have the remote start function placed onto a button on the existing Altima Coupe keyfob? or a combination of buttons perhaps? I'm definitely interested in a remote starter, but I'd rather not have to carry two keyfobs around...

Here is a thread from awhile ago, sounds like he got a remote start where he can just click a combination of buttons to start on the regular altima key fob.

I am pretty sure it is possible. Lexus IS250/IS350 can have a Lexus brand Remote start installed and they also have the button start.

So with a good remote start system and good, experienced installer, it should be do-able.

That's really good to know. I had heard what I said from a tv show warning against it (can't remember which), but I may myself want to get one put in and would rather get aftermarket if it can be done right.

Hangtime23You can definitely have the factory fab do it. Most of the time that is what people want. You would pres lock 3 times in a 5 second time period. The pk lights would turn on and then the car would start. NO big deal for any installer (who knows how to work on the push-to-start vehicle).

RFX45I have never seen a factory Lexus remote starter. In all Toyota/Lexus vehicles (at least for the last 5 years or so) anytime that the car is running the factory fab goes dead. Lexus had it built into the key and NOW Toyotas have it like that. Most likely the system you are talking about is aftermarket but contains all the functions of the factory fab plus the remote starter option.

No spanking necessary. But a HOW-To could be a little hard over a chat room. Have you done remote starters before?? If so then so far so good. But in this install you need to remove the instrument cluster, run 7 wires to the fuse box under the hood, and use a CANSL2i bypass module. Let me know if you need more information. The bypass module has a lot of installation instructions but you need to be a registered user. You can try to call the company they might help you but I am not sure... Usually the info is for dealers only. Try it you never know....

I'm pretty sure it's not aftermarket as it is offered by Lexus itself. It maybe made by another company but most parts are like that like having Bose system or Lo-Jack alarm system. It's an option you can add. Here's the link to the remote start available for the IS250: http://beta.lexus-parts.com/pa...90066

It even has the Lexus logo on the remote:

Yes, you can have a remote starter system installed into your push-to-start nissan................I have been a professional mobile electronics installer for 10+ years.....and I just recently decided to try one of these vehicles for a customer who wanted the remote start! It was a reasonabley easy job, but maybe considered expensive to some....You most definitley must have an extra keyfob to finish out the job.....If you have a local shop you trust, have them call me at 217 342 2611(ask for Kyle) and I would happily help assist them.... Or just drive to Effingham, illinois and I'll do it for you! I will probably never log onto this site, though I did want you to know it can be done, and done correctly!

And my last post to you all using generic modules that are going to fail(in the near future) on your remote start installation on these vehicles.....The only thing you should be tapping into under the hood should be the tach wire and possibly a hood switch if your customer is a f-ing idiot.....Kyle

Just an FYI Kyle you do not need an extra fob. If you are using an extra keyfob the install DOES work and is easier to install but the security system in the car is now useless. Anyone can actually drive away with the vehicle. Check out the Fortin CanSl2i bypass. It learns the transponder and keeps the factory security totally in check. You are correct though it is an easy install if you are using the KeyFob but I wouldn't do that. I am not blowing smoke either I am an established 12yr installer myself

I got a dealer-installed Auto Start system for about $650. It does have an extra remote, but the security is fine. The doors are still locked as normal.
