Sorry of this has been posted, if it has please direct me with a link. I tried the search option but did not find what I was looking for. Again sorry is it's been posted and any help would be appreciated.

I am highly considering on purchasing an Altima 2.5 Coupe with CVT but is it possible to get it with a Nav without the premium package option? The Nissan website won't let me add the nav without adding the premium package. I also called and e-mailed dealers last week and they either haven't called me back or hasn't responded to my e-mail.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks again.

From what the website says the premium package is required before you can get the Nav.

i was told that in order for you to get the tech pach, the premium package is required. The dealership told me that you cannot just have the tech pack. Anyway...why have the tech pack and no leather?

^^^^ Because with the premium package and tech pack, the 2.5 would go around $28k without tax and title and probably around $31k-$32k out the door. I was hoping to get it for around $26k-$27k out the door with just the CVT and Nav, maybe even the convenience package, if it were available. I just can't see myself driving a $30k+ Nissan especially a 4-cylinder FWD. The 3.5 would cost too much gas and cost around $34k out the door.

Plus all I really wanted was just the Nav and I'm set. Any chance they may have the tech package as a separate options without any requirements for the 09? Has these ever happened with other Nissan cars?

Thanks for all the help.

Right now you can't get nav w/o tech. Can't get tech w/o premium. Go to nissanusa.com and build your car and price. I plan on a 2.5 s, for around 23k-24k. If I add nav and premium, you're right, it'll push it to 30k or more. That sucks.

Kasper, I think that would end up costing you more because of all the changes to the dash. For me, I will end up not choosing the tech, nav, or premium. For some prospective buyers, the price range of a 2.5 coupe w/o tech or premium is just right. Adding 7k+ can make a big difference. If I end up in a city where nav will be useful, I'll just have to buy an external one. I live in wyoming; so I have no immediate need for navigation.

The premium package comes with the modified centre console for the 6 disc cd changer etc. The CD player is the down below. Without the tech package there is a storage spot below and the standard single cd player is in the centre console. There is now way they can even think of giving the Nav without the premium package because of this. If you really want Nav but no premium, you would have to buy an aftermarket Nav system. One coupe owner had an aftermarket Nav installed in the lower extra storage compartment (non-premium package) so it was out of sight when not being used. I think there was a pic of it in the Altima Coupe Release thread. He probale saved a bundle doing it this way as well. The Nav looks great integrated but is very pricey for technology that quickly becomes outdated.

^^^ I was thinking of that as my option but wasn't sure how it would work. Did he get rid of the lower compartment or just installed it without removing it? I'll check out the pic in that long thread, hopefully it's not too hard to find. Thanks for the tip.

I think he installed the nav INSIDE the compartment. That way the door still closes and nobody can see. Pretty sweet setup. That might be the way to go.

Question: With just the basic package, is the cd player a 6 disc (in dash) changer or just a single?

^^^ I believe it's just a single.

Also, I can't find the pics of the nav set-up. Can anyone direct me to a link or post pics. It would be highly appreciated. Thanks

I saw a pic of a Garmin put in the compartment on another forum. Here is the link.

Thanks for link for the pics. Though not clear, it gives me the idea. So the compartment is actually big enough for a portable Nav? Must be pretty big since he can close it too. I was thinking of putting an in-dash Navigation inside or in place of the compartment. That's a thinker.

Thanks again for the help.

It looks small. I wonder how hard it is to see while you're driving.

Wow, never knew about that website. In the Pics forums somebody stole my pics, it said post pics of precision grays so maybe not stealing and just sharing.

The guy posted my pics on both Gray and Silver thread.

Oh well, as long as he is getting the word out on this beautiful car I dont really mind.

It's definetly a single cd player. The lower storage compartment is quite big and useful and can easily fit the Nav system. My guess is you would to install close to the front of the compartment to see it when needed.

It looks like its his website, he is all over the place on there. He started the thread to post pics of certain colors and then he would post some. He never claimed it is his car, I believe he/she has a black one. I don't really care, but found it funny he posted my car in both the gray and silver color threads. Atleast get my color right.

It looks like he took alot of pictures from people on this site, he may even be one of us. Look for your car in the Multimedia/Gallery subforum.
