I like when people ask me what kinda car is that. I just smile
But your idea is unique, well kinda since stillen did it. It looks nice though.
I was really ready to super flame you... but I think I understand where you are coming from... in theory, they took the concept of what they did with the G35 Sedan and did the same with the Altima Coupe. The G sedan and g coupe always proudly booasted that, externally, they don't share a single body panel.... so folks truely think the G sedan and G coupe are different animals... and overtime, they became just that!
IMO, Nissan should have done the same thing with the Altimas... its like, for some people, there's a number of Stigmas surrounding the name Altima. So to come out with a coupe version of it, it sort of carries the same stigma...
The guys at my local car meet all told me that they clowned the Altima Coupe on a consistent basis, until I started showing up to the meets, and they saw the potential of the car.... one of them even said "good job, it no longer looks anything like an Altima"
I know some other folks on this forum who also sort of feel the stigma associated with the name "Altima"
Me personally, I never really cared. I love my car.. I don't love it because its an ALtima, I just fell in love with it when I saw it at the dealership, and thought that pouring 15K into it would make it much more unique than the 100,000 G coupes I saw riding around SOCAL.
So yeah, I agree, the name "Altima" carries a certain something to it... while you get the history of the Altima, you also get the stigma....
but a rose by any other name still smells as sweet...right? Maybe that's why some folks debadge.... not because they want people to think they are driving a G or anything like that, but because they hate the stigma associated with the term Altima. Nisan could have gone with a number of other names for the car, but perhaps they thought it wouldn't sell as easily.
A lot of folks are very hesitant to go with a new series vehicle just because of the buyers remorse of being troubled with all the recalls, squeeks, and everything else that comes with a "new" vehicle (sound familliar???) so they slapped on Altima Coupe to make folks think they were getting a new car with the performance/reliability history of the Altima, when in fact, its just the opposite.
IDK, just my .03
