I like it!

But I don't think Nissan would embrace it - the current method balances the model name on one side with the option level on the other in a symmetrical fashion.

And most of those who debadge the existing stuff probably don't want to add the Altima name back on in a different spot.

Not trying to be negative... Like I said, I like it - it looks good, and clean that way. A nice way to make your own A/C unique, which I think is your intent.

Stillen already took that idea and put it on their 09 Max. Which i might add looks awesome! They just debaged it and put a sticker on it. You could always do that to your AC.

LBC....maybe you could fab up some custom worded vinyl to cover that chrome piece back there?? kind of like the color matched vinyl pieces that are already out there, but with whatever word the customer wants on it?

So a blackout for that piece... with whatever text you wanted "missing" from the vinyl, showing the paint color?

yea...that would look tight....that way the letters would still be chrome

although would that be easy to apply? since the letters would be cut out of the vinyl, i think it would be hard to get it on there right

hey mcheddadi....can you maybe de-badge my car and make the chrome trunk piece black and put the chrome ALTIMA letters on it, so us sedanners can see what it looks like....also so those with black coupes can see what it will look like? Thanks!!!

My coupe and all the others are the hotness. People hear me talkin all this junk about how dope my car is and so on, and then when they ask me what kinda car do you have. I say an "altima" and they make a face like blah thats not special. Then they see it and are like oh im sorry.

Bina, its all the same to apply, this is a fairly flat piece, and a child should be able to cover it in vinyl... Email me to discuss further bina!

I was really ready to super flame you... but I think I understand where you are coming from... in theory, they took the concept of what they did with the G35 Sedan and did the same with the Altima Coupe. The G sedan and g coupe always proudly booasted that, externally, they don't share a single body panel.... so folks truely think the G sedan and G coupe are different animals... and overtime, they became just that!

IMO, Nissan should have done the same thing with the Altimas... its like, for some people, there's a number of Stigmas surrounding the name Altima. So to come out with a coupe version of it, it sort of carries the same stigma...

The guys at my local car meet all told me that they clowned the Altima Coupe on a consistent basis, until I started showing up to the meets, and they saw the potential of the car.... one of them even said "good job, it no longer looks anything like an Altima"

I know some other folks on this forum who also sort of feel the stigma associated with the name "Altima"

Me personally, I never really cared. I love my car.. I don't love it because its an ALtima, I just fell in love with it when I saw it at the dealership, and thought that pouring 15K into it would make it much more unique than the 100,000 G coupes I saw riding around SOCAL.

So yeah, I agree, the name "Altima" carries a certain something to it... while you get the history of the Altima, you also get the stigma....

but a rose by any other name still smells as sweet...right? Maybe that's why some folks debadge.... not because they want people to think they are driving a G or anything like that, but because they hate the stigma associated with the term Altima. Nisan could have gone with a number of other names for the car, but perhaps they thought it wouldn't sell as easily.

A lot of folks are very hesitant to go with a new series vehicle just because of the buyers remorse of being troubled with all the recalls, squeeks, and everything else that comes with a "new" vehicle (sound familliar???) so they slapped on Altima Coupe to make folks think they were getting a new car with the performance/reliability history of the Altima, when in fact, its just the opposite.

IDK, just my .03

yeah like i said on the rebadging thread.. i think there'd a few categories of debadgers... cleaner look, hate being associated with Altima, passing for a different trim, etc.. /i wasn't implying that everyone hates the stigMA OF altima, but some folks like dldjros69 clearly do!

I'm wondering what it would look like if you took the altima badge and put it where the burger is instead. can anyone try a photochop?

nice! looks a little off though, like something's missing.. maybe the logo's just too small, or not spaced apart enough. i think it could look really nice if it was spaced apart like INIFINITY badges.

Has anybody gone through with this experiment? I need a suggestion as I think I'm going to do this. Vinyl or rebadge ALTIMA?
