Well, this is my situation on my 08 coupe.

It already has 56,000 miles. And besides oil, tires (45,000 miles), battery (55,000), I havent really worn out my brake pads at all. They dont squeak yet. But I can tell that my front right rotor does have some kind of warping since when I brake heavy it sends pulsations (non ABS). I am pretty sure that its not worn brake pads.

I am trying to go for either a good set of rotors (stillen) and pads and do it my self (thru a friend, we both may be able to tackle the job).

Or buy a pair of 50 dlls rotors and decent pads and take it to a local mechanic and have them do it.

Or last option, just take it to a brake shop and have them figure it out and just pay the total amount (wich is not really the way i like to do things). I prefer to pay more for better parts and saving some money on labor than to just pay for someone else to take care of my problems.

If someone who reads this is from San Diego area, can you recommend me a mechanic for this job? What type of prices am I looking at in case I decide to buy the parts and have the mechanic do the job? What if I want to do it my self, where do I learn how to change my rotors and pads?

thanks in advance.

What Rotor/ Brake pads did you get and how much was it?

I'm planning on getting new brake pads/rotors.
