ok, well i have a sensitive ear i guess, and i've been noticing that the car seems to have slight very low sounds..more like rattling noises coming from the back when on bumpy roads, and when i get passengers int eh back seat and when they first take a seat, the seats to make sorta "clank" noise. maybe i'm just paranoid lol. i just hear rattling noises all over the car, anyone else?

oh and i read somewhere else before of the passenger seat belt rattle, but it's not that, i checked, to be more exact..it seems the main noise is coming from the back wheels, and seats.

i apologize, without searching, i did not realize there was already a thread like this made. however, i didnt come across in that particular thread covering the noise from the engine. anyone else notice sort of a WHINING sound, like a low whistle noise from the VQ engine when letting go of the accelerator, or braking and slowing down to a complete stop?

That sound coming from the rear is probably your rear deck. I have the same rattle on my car and it's irritating! Everytime I drive on rough roads or hit a bump, it rattles! Haven't had the time to take it apart yet. I'm installing the HID kit this weekend, so maybe next weekend I'll get around to it. I'll let you know what it is when and if I find it.

thanks, i'll be looking forward to your next reply, but as for the engine noise goes, anyone hear a lil whistle? or whining noise everytime you step on it, and then let go and decelerate or brake when coming to a stop? is it normal for the vq engine to make that noise?

Do you have the CVT? If so, it may be the transmission. I'm not sure though, it's just a hunch. I didn't notice that whistle, but be on the lookout next time I drive. I know Gillig buses running CVT's make that whistle sound when accelarating/decelerating.

Can't say for sure, but it may be. It happens when the engine is retards pretty hard, right? By retard, I mean when you're driving and you let go of the gas pedal, the car decelerates pretty drastically without using the brakes. CVT's will usually make more of a "whining" sound vs. a "whistle". If it's more of a whine, I would think that it's the transmission.

I don't know if this is the same, but when I shut down my car in my garage I hear a whine-like noise, very brief (~1-2 sec) descending pitch, sorta like a turbine spinning down. I assume it is the CVT, but I really don't know. Otherwise, the White Zombie is too loud for me to notice. (I really don't hear any whining noise while driving)

I also hear the "turbine" sound for a few seconds when turning off the car in the garage,,,very cool:)
