So i have a 2007 3.5 SE sedan with a 6 speed manual with about 68k miles on the stock clutch, and i will probably be replacing the clutch and flywheel at the same time and that work is almost around the corner. My worry is what clutch and flywheel kits are available for our cars. from my knowledge, the coupes and the sedans 3.5 6 speed both run the same exact transmission and engine setups, so all the drivetrain and powertrain components are the same.

What will the rest of you other 6 speed owners due when it comes time to replace these parts?

Is there anyone that has already done this work on their car yet, if so how did everything turn out?

i know spec clutch has a clutch kit and flywheel for our car so far, but i checked part numbers and they were similar to the 05-06 altima SE-R's part numbers from spec. if that is true, what does that mean for other companies that make clutch kits for the se-r, will those also fit our cars?

also, i was researching short shift kits from nismo, and they have a motorsports version shift kit for the sentra se-r that the site also says fits the altima. maybe this will indeed fit our cars, and i believe it is actually the shifter itself, and not just the one item that rl sells. maybe the combo of both would be a phenomenal upgrade for us. anyone have knowledge on this?

my post was kind of long, but hopefully some of you can provide good knowledgable answer. thanks.

Although the trannys seem the same the clutch and flywheel from the older models and 2.5 to 3.5 and vice versa will not fit to my knowledge. It's obviously different on the engine side.

I have been looking for an after market clutch and fly wheel to put in my 2.5 (turbo). Mine seems to hold fine but I have made it slip a few times. Although there is about 67,000kms on it now and 17,000 with the turbo kit on.

There have been a few previous threads about clutches, I dunno if any came out. I did a google search, turned up nothing :(. There was someone on here that thought they bought a clutch for their 3.5L, however it did not fit at all.

whats goin on andrew? i read somewhere that spec has that flywheel, clutch/pressure plate combo listed for our cars but it doesn't fit our vehicles. Not sure why they still have it up. As far as i know only oem parts for clutch, pressure plate and flywheel.

so i just now called spec clutch, and spoke to a guy there named matt, and he says that the clutch kit and flywheel for the 2007+ 3.5 6MT does indeed fit up and that they havent heard of any problems coming from the install.

He told me that they even though they might not have the car on site, that it has been confirmed to fit up and it has been checked to make sure that it does. So if the product is up there on their site, then it does work or else it wouldnt be there.

This is somewhat good news, but i want to know who it is that has this on their car?

If there isnt anyone here with it, then ill probably inquire about this in a few months because i will be needing this upgrade soon.

So who here is interested in purchasing a clutch and flywheel kit from Spec?

Sorry to bump such an old thread but I can confirm that the SPEC flywheel and clutch will NOT fit the 2008+ Altima 3.5. They no longer have it listed on their main site either. SPEC said they may revisit making it fit.
