hi I new here and I have been looking at some cars so I've been working for like 3 years and just got a new job and the pay is sooooo much better and am looking to upgrade from my 04 civic. I can spend like 28-30k and I am not sure what I want at all. I know this is a Nissan forum but everyone here seems be objective when it comes to picking a car so Any Ideas?

the important question is New or used? for the price of a new altima coupe, some people have gotten used G37 infinitis. also if you dont mind used, you can get a 335i BMW... you could even get the 04+ body style 5 series BMW or 03-09 body sytle E-class Mercedes. but thats if you're ok with used.

I dont know if I like the Genesis, and I want to say that the Accord may be out of your price range new. I agree with getting a used infiniti, and you can stay in the nissan/infiniti family =D.

I saw a red one a month or two ago, Genesis I mean, and I saw it before I heard about it so I was like...what the hell is that? I honestly havent heard or looked much into the Genesis but if that's what you're leaning for, don't let anything stop you. Good luck with the car search! Don't be like me- I bought the first car I saw in the first dealership I walked into on my first search for my first car buy ever.

I would say altima, only because everyone else already drives those other cars....You hardly see altima's around (where I am anyways) and it turns heads more than others ^^

i am actually competely and utterly satisfied with my car. I'm an impulsive buyer in the sense that when i see something, I know if i'm going to love it enough to buy it within the first...say....30 seconds and this car took all but 3 seconds for me to say, 'im buying it!!' it's actually my first manual car ever, and I learned how to drive manual a MONTH before I bought it, so I rolled down a lot of hills the first few weeks. if it was any other car, i think i would have had a heck of a time trying to drive it.

Thats great sometimes impulsive buys work out in ur favor and i would want a stick but there have been times when my mom has used my car well pretty often some weeks so no manuel i wish tho.

@RaZmAn i never see A/C near me either i always see Ac/C they kinda why i'm looking at them bec well they are the popular buy.

I say test drive each car and see what you prefer. Pick a car that you are comfortable with and like to drive. That is what really matter, don't let someone decided what to pick because later down the road you might regret not getting the car you had in mind over someone opinion.

I got the Altima because it was different, comfortable, reliable and good on gas. It had what I was looking for in a car. I also got the 2.5s instead of the 3.5SE because I wasn't looking for power, more on looks and good gas. If I wanted power I would had gone with a VW GTi or Subaru WRX (those were still in my budget range).

So get what makes you happy and would want to drive everyday.

i have test driven the A/C, Ac/C and tomm i going to hyundai to test the gen. and im more looking for feed back and personal views on how they everyone feels about their coupes, like whats things that u like and is ther anything that annoys the SH*T out of u about the coupe

i have also tested the VW GTI that why i wanted to test the Gen/C bec well the turbo 4 on the VW was good

i also love the look of the A/C and bec of Hussain i need to make an appointment to test a G37 and i feel so stupid not thinking of it

i also not exactly looking for something with earth shattering power but fuel economy isnt the most important thing on my list so i dont mind something with a little power

I would say definetly the A/C just because of its uniquness. I have considered trading it for a G35/350z/ or something else but in the end theres so many of those and so many done up. Its hard to find a car no played out these days, and to find one that people ask what it is. Everyday more than a few comments about my car usually what is it?

I have yet to see an A/C done up at all around here, ive only seen 2 stock.

Love how rare and unique it is and IMO that is the most important thing of all.

if i get a rwd car i wont need to worry about that

I have a 3.5 Turbo and the understeer is not an issue at all. I'm not going to sit here on my desk and tell you to buy an Altima because you're in a Nissan Forum. Like mentioned before an Accord is over your price range. A Genesis is a nice car, but at the end it is what it is.... "A HYUNDAI", But a very, very nice car. I can tell you from experience that a German car will cost you an arm and leg for repairs/service. I say that an Altima is a great car with performance, reliability, durability and low ownership cost on repairs/service. That's my opinion dude, but it is your money and I recommend you to buy something that you feel comfortable driving. Buy something that you will can enjoy for a good time since you will be paying for it a few years and I can tell you from others experiances that you might regret what you get if you don't think about it good and hard. Whichever you decide to buy is ok with me since they are all good cars. You're OK in my book dude . Let us know what you decide to buy .

i know the accords a bit pricy but i like it for different reasons then the A/C

my dad has a bimmer so i know all about thos oil changes that cost a arm and leg i kinda wish i had the money for an S5

If you really like the accord, you should really test drive it first especially since you have to get an auto (at least that's what I thought I read). The new V6 accords have that VCM technology where cylinders are activated as necessary. You might not like the pull on the auto accord as much as you would on an altima coupe. However, if you're going for the 2.5s, it's a toss up.

I was deciding between the Accord and AC as well when I purchased my car. But it came down to what looked more appealing inside and out. Performance wise, they're close. Also, Nissan had a fully loaded black AC available nearby, while Honda had trouble locating one. The only knock I have on the AC is the lack of trunk space...but i don't really use the trunk too often, so whatevers...

I don't mean to leave the Hyundai out, but those cars look nice. However, at the time I was looking, they weren't available. On paper, they seem like great cars, but I have no real world experience in a Hyundai.

if your looking for modibility i would buy the four cylinder genesis rear wheel drive manual transmission and a evo engine i think they already got 344whp on it which is insane but like ricky said its a hyundai oh and the 2.0t handles better then the v6 cause it has less weight or somthing thats what the guy from car a driver said anyway.

if your just going to cruise nothing better then a 2.5 coupe it has the uhmp when you need it but will never be a race car lol

When the lady friend and I purchased the alti coupe earlier this year, we also test drove the gen coupe and the accord coupe. These are my impressions:

Altima - Torque is nice, 2 on the looks department, love the cvt, model we wanted with features.

Gen Coupe - Gorgeous car, 1st on the looks department, but it's a hyundai and first year of production.

Accord - Refined driving, 3 on the looks - but i like the rear end more than the other 2, Accord cabin felt wierd to me...like it was too much.. the accord was very pricey in comparison with features that I recieved from Nissan.

I have since then bought a versa hatch, and i can honestly say...i'm really happy with Nissan currently....but i will be leaning to either the evo, wrx, or gen coupe 2.0 when i give up on my versa :-D

200 hp VS 270 HP..... i'd consider the GTi a LITTLE faster then the 2.5s but theres no way it could come even close to a 3.5se unless it had some stuff done to it... WRX, ill give you that one, i personally love the 06-07 WRX and STi....

i am not really concerned with power i am in a civic now so any engine with a bigger displacement will feel more robust

that said i would buy a prius if it was fun to drive and maybe looked cooler/better but gas milage isnt really on the top of the list either i sorta want a nice mix of everything

and has anyone seen the red leather in person? if so impressions on it please, also the crimson black and ocean gray i like the cb on the new maxima how is it on the A/C?

Let's just say... Korean products are 99% marketing. Just like Samsung... All the talk about being advanced and ends up being a PoS TV. I suspect Hyundai would be the same. I don't care how it performs on the track. I don't care how fast it is on paper. You gotta be comfortable with it. Test drive... Then consider the reliability... Then make the decision.

I'm currently drooling over Mitsubishi Lancer ES 5MT. That would be my project car since it's cheap to turbo and it looks mean in Octane Blue Pearl.

oooo i agree the lancers are sick... i really want a white Evo X. I just think they are pure sex and I don't see many of them on the road (evo x). I see altima coupes every couple of miles here on long island. It is fun to make other altima coupe members stare
