@ 10k miles, Excellent condition

3.5 SE Coupe : $20,000 (roughly)3.5 SL Sedan: $21,000 (roughly)

I am angry about the sedan value..!!! I suppose it is fairly accurate though... the MSRP is $28,670, but the Invoice is $26,565. 80% of 26,565 is $21,252,,, meaning the car lost a little over 20% of its value in the first year.

When considering the MSRP of the car though, as well as the miscellaneous purchasing costs ("destination fee", paperwork, etc), I was really hoping the trade-in would be more in the $22 - $23 range.

I guess it's not a huge difference but still OUCH the depreciation is painful on the wallet.

Cars are liabilities, not assets. People don't buy em to make money. I'm also assuming these are stock 3.5s, cuz a fully loaded is another 5k missing off the original MSRP.

Nissan has always had relatively good retention value to their cars. First year is always the worst for depreciation too.

Like the above poster said, depreciation is usually the worst in the first year. But even after that, sports cars (I.E. Coupes) generally depreciate more per year than sedans, suv's, and other such vehicles.

My 3.5 Coupe fully loaded in excellent condition and 12k miles sells to a private party for about $22,010. Incase anyone is interested I paid 33k out the door more than a year ago. Just an FYI for comparison. The only way you'd get more is with less miles on your car.
