Hey guys... I'm going to change the oil on my girlfriend's '99 Altima tonight when I change the oil on my '98 S14... I have a 10-pack of filters - the engines are both KA24DE's so do they use the same filter?

Thanks.

most likely. Just compare it to your old filter.

I checked the part numbers on the Nissan filters and they were different, so I went to Autozone and compared filters that they had for both cars. They were different, but barely. I went ahead and bought one for her car, but I couldn't get the stupid thing off for the life of me.

Since the Altima is FWD, the engine is mounted the other way. (transverse?) I could barely get my arm up past the axle to reach the filter from underneath. It was late, dark and I was tired from a 19hr day so I just left the old filter on for now. If I work on cars when I'm tired I get frustrated and accidentally break things.

I may just get the filter tool from nissan or whever since the stupid thing is so hard to get to.
