Im kinda running out of ideas as to what could be causing this issue. Been Googling it for sometime now so ill give the forum a try. I own a 09 2.5Sl with 170km which started making a typical wheel bearing noise from front passenger side last week,a consistent humming noise that got louder with speed. Got it inspected at a local garage and there was definitely some play. Got the bearing replaced with a new abs sensor. as soon as i went on the highway i noticed there's a very strange humming and droning sound with vibration in the pedal and steering wheel after 70-80KMH that i can best describe as a fluctuating hummmm then 1 second gap and then hummmm again and faster i go the gap between this humming gets smaller, I feel it in the gas pedal and my passenger under their foot. bring the car back the next day and they replace the bearing with another bearing and i still have the same issue. So i decide to pay a visit to the nearest dealership. Dealer calls me telling me i have to replace my cvt transmission which is covered under warranty. Finally i receive the car today with a brand new transmission and I still have the issue. Im going crazy and have no clue what else it might be. So far in the past couple of days i have changed the Bearing, transmission, New continental tires and an alignment. I have an appointment next week at the dealer to go see what else it might be.

What's become of this matter? Where you able to figure out the cause of the noise/vibration? Who determined you needed to have your ABS sensor replaced along with the wheel bearing, and did the dealership explain to you how they specifically determined you needed your CVT replaced?

Bearing definitely had some play when you pushed on the tire, but wasn't the cause of the sound. That is why it was changed. Abs sensor was due to it being damaged while the bearing was being replaced! Sensor was seized. As for the transmission they simply jacked up the car and heard noises coming from there. My humming noise is still there. Dealer tried the car with a different set of wheels and it didn't make a difference. They will try to change the axle tomorrow since everything else has been changed.

Is the axle work going to be covered under warranty? :)
