so 2morrow im visiting my nissan dealership to get a quote for my car. i want the nissan 3.5 mt but need a few opinions as to what you guys think i should add. a few specs on my car is that its a 2.5s coupe with cvt and fully loaded with 5600 miles. if i manage to find a used one with around 20,00 miles how much should i add opposed to a newone? "Guys assume that i get the nissan 3.5 coupe mt base model with no extras"

thanks in advance

ok.. so you got a 2.5 fully loaded.. and trying to trade it back in for a 3.5 MT yeah??

if the 3.5 MT is around 20K miles on it.. i think a good price with the trade in.. ur gonna have to add about 7-12 grand...

hope that helps

So you are going to get rid of a brand new car for a used car.

i want a new one, but it will be a base model. i know the value of my car, and understand the dealer needs to make a profit,. worst comes to worst if i dont like their price ill just keep my car. what i am thinking is how much will i have to add, considering my car isnt even more than 5 months old?

i see the 2.5s used with 20k miles going for 16k online and they are either base models OR just have the convenience package.... a fully loaded 2.5s with that low miles will get you about 19k in my opinion.... i saw on craigslist a dealer selling a 3.5se 6mt model with 20k miles for 19k AND it had the premium package..... but most 3.5se i saw were either 19k or 21k or 23k..... i think it should be close to break even, you might have to spend like 1k or 2k (plus tax and licence fees).

I agree with Hussain. Base model 3.5 you should come close to even for a fully loaded 2.5. You might end up paying more because dealerships never give fair value and expect premium for their cars. If you have to pay more than $3000, stick with your car I think. How come you are selling your new car?

Side note: I personally love the 3.5 myself

as of now im sticking with it, the dealer said 8k and i think thats rediculous for a base 3.5 with no extras" i was just looking for more spped and performance. i love the body of the coupes and wanted a 3.5 rather than a 2.5. not to mention im a full time student and 7k is harsh, now 3k is ok.

Trading a 2.5 loaded with about 6K on it, for a 3.5 base with about 20K on it? Your gonna pay at least 5-6K, probably a bit more. The 3.5 holds its value a little better than a 2.5, and the difference in mileage isn't enough to overcome the 4K difference in base price, even if your car is loaded, because the dealer still wants to make something on the deal. So I don't think you're going to beat the numbers I mentioned above.
