I like what was done to the 4runner, but its in the wrong car. To the OP, those clear lights dont look to good on a gold pathfinder. Try tinting them a bit. Personally I like stuff like this

Sure its pointless for daily use, but if you are building a show truck and have the money to spend; go for it

First of all that statement doesn't make any sense what-so-ever, he shouldn't be drawing power from the batteries. So he needs 4 batteries to run 2x 12" subs and some door speakers? How about a 2nd alternator? It sounds like an incredibly inefficient and poorly designed system if that's his setup.

apologies we dont live in a heavily wooded area or somewhere where we need to climb over giant boulders.

around here, we keep to the streets and drive by the clubs. the lights is to draw attention, the sound is to turn heads.

our cars are for show, not to search for lost hikers
i live my life a quarter mile at a time. and for those 10 seconds or less, i'm free. it doesn't matter if you win by an inch, or you win by a mile. winning is winning, and any real street racer will tell you that.

silly me. i thought sound systems were for me and my passengers to hear, not the entire damn neighborhood.

Yeah because you should be giving advice on tail lights. "Just paint em black!" "Why do I keep getting pulled over for my blackout tail lights?"

i think it looks good, i like our stock ones too cause theres more clear in them than most cars and the middle strip of red. but like i said i think they look good on a gold path, if you like them its your choice, your car, so you do what you think looks best, .

edit: just looked at my signature pic, im gonna make my headlights clear corners this summer, and i think that having that, plus clear fogs, plus clear tails would make it look pretty sleek and clean.

well i'm sorry you're mistaken, but NOBODY wants to hear your music. when i'm driving down the street with my windows down and my volume is at 8 of 20, i do not want to hear your damn music from 3 lanes over, nor do i want to hear your license plate rattling or feel my head and chest pounding from the bass.

when you are playing your loud music in parking lots, or on the street, and you see all those heads turn to look at you, they are not looking at you with jealousy; they are not impressed. we are looking at you because you are obnoxious, immature, inconsiderate, and annoying.

i'm sure "some people around here absolutely love to share the music with the world around them," and you are obviously one of them, but do not for one second think that we (the world) want you to share it with us; need you to share it with us.

the only thing we need from kids like you is for you to turn down your god damn music.

your music is a distraction, not an attraction. i'm sorry that you're so blinded and deafened from your own music; that you're so full of pride on the false premise that we enjoy it when you share your music with us.

get real.

Look dude, I've got what I and many others consider to be one of the best sounding car audio systems around. It's loud and it's clear. You could be standing 100ft away and hear every track on any given recording almost perfectly. BUT it's for me to listen to in my ride because no one else wants to hear that s***. When I'm on the freeway I play it loud because it's not interfering with anyone else's audio or annoying them. When I'm on the streets it's down to a level that's meant for me and my passengers. What makes you think anyone wants to hear what you're listing to?

BTW you really need to start making your own threads about your ride or friends rides because thread jacking is not cool. The OP doesn't get the info they're looking for when you do that.

and thats nice that you have a nice system. and its nice that you keep it down, i like to hear it nice and loud so i keep it loud, your preference, my preference.

someone asked to see a picture of buddies car, and as i stated earlier, my friend has the same style tails on his 4runner, so i posted. then youre butt buddy decided to throw gay jokes around and you hopped into the fray.

I'm not saying go and spend $1500 on some knobbies so you can go offroading every weekend, but some of the dirt trails out there are pretty nice. Even just sticking to the main roads, the mountains are pretty kickass.
I hereby retract this statement.

Keep the f*** out of the Rockies. I don't want to be relaxing with a beer and a fire and suddenly hear some douche roll up with his stereo blasting, pissing off everyone in the campground, because you don't have the decency to turn down your stereo.

Ohhh my bad, you probably wouldn't wanna do this because of your audio inferiority.

@Pwin Thanks, but I am gonna go with a black tint not color matched. How was the quality from Jons tinted tails? That is were I was looking to get them done if I can't find someone locally.

I'm fairly critical when it comes to painting and bodywork. His work was pretty good, you could tell he painted them width-wise instead of height-wise so you can see his strokes in the paint, but only in the right light. I also wish he had put on a little more clear coat, they are shiny and the clear coat looks good, I can just tell he didn't do more than one wet coat or two dry coats.

Would I recommend him? Yes, his prices are fair and the work was good. I just think the R50 tail lights don't take well to color-matching (with lighter colors; white, silver, gold, etc.) since they have so many lines and crevices. When they are tinted black though you can't see all those details and they look good.

Well they have been on the pathy (lights) for a few days now, and I'm thinking that the GRAY perimeter around the light don't really match with anything. I thought they would complement the gray/silver LE fact rims but it doesn't. So today I went to the local paint shop and got them to mix my paint code EV0 in a spray can, so what I'm wondering before I actually attempt spray the gray part of the lights, Is what grid of sandpaper would you recommend? and would/should I use primer...I am going to paint the reflectors on the back bumper at the same time so they match instead of having them black...input is greatly appreciated

320,600 wash, degrease prime/adhesion promoter, paint. but tobe honest, its not going to look great as the paint is "different" so to speak... the only way itll look normal is if you were able to blend into your door panel/fender

Restoring an old thread with my first post, yay

I have 2004 Pathfinder Chinook, body colour K21..

When I bought the vehicle last June, I noticed that one of my corner lights was cracked so I purchased clear corner lights off eBay. I want the head lights to match the tail lights so I'm thinking of getting the same tail lights as the OP but I'm worried that the gray border won't match the paint colour. Can someone confirm that K21 matches the gray border on these tail lights?

Thanks!
